Trump’s Bold Move

You may not like him. You may think he’s a boor and many other expletives you want to use. You may even think that what he did today was taking the heat off other things going on in his orb. Doesn’t matter.

We watched as Trump said “Today we finally acknowledge the obvious, that Jerusalem is Israel’s capital. This is nothing more or less than a recognition of reality.”

He then said, …”Israel has made its capital in the city of Jerusalem, the capital the Jewish people established in ancient times.”

That’s it. No one since 1995 has had the kahoonas to take a stand and actually do something. How long it will take for the embassy to move there is irrelevant.

A final note on this is what we find astounding and that is how the world has gotten used to Arabs reaction to things when they are not happy. Israel is bracing for riots, G-d forbid terrorist attacks and who knows what else.

Why, we ask ourselves, do Arabs react this way and why has it become the norm? What other groups kill other people when they are not happy with something?

The Middle East is one of if not the most complicated part of the world. Today, things got a bit clearer.

How the Mighty Fall

Coderre has been defeated and Montreal now has its first woman mayor, Valerie Plante. Montreal joined Brexit, Trump and Macron in tossing out the establishment.

Montrealers spoke declaring they are sick and tired of the bullying, know-it-all Coderre. No doubt the $48 million lights on the Jacques Cartier bridge, $3.45 million tree stumps pretending to signify our 375th birthday, the almost $1 million gazebo for Mordechai Richler that took 5 years to build and the piece-de-resistance, the e-race that nobody wanted, nobody cared about and until five days ago, nobody knew the cost of.  It turned out that most of the tickets were given away for free and Coderre had to apologize.

The next one on the chopping block is Couillard. People are sick and tired of him and more importantly, sick and tired of his henchman, another bully,  Barrette. He best see the wall with the writing but usually, as in Coderre’s case, their egos get in the way.

One more thing. There’s no way Coderre will lower himself and his huge ego and stay on in the role of opposition leader. Our bet is that he will resign.

Westmount’s mayor is also a woman by the name of Christina Smith. It is not Beryl Wajsman who ran. Quel surprise.

Can we talk? In every single picture we ever saw of him during the election campaign he looked smug and condescending. We will hold ourselves back from being sleazy, slimy and gross. Blanche, you are really nasty.

We’ll talk…

President Trump

The pollsters were wrong. The exit polls were wrong. The people spoke loudly and very clearly – We’re fed up and not going to take it anymore.

Hillary didn’t speak tonight and did not concede the election.  Instead she sent out her campaign chairman John Podesta who told everyone to go home and get some sleep. Seriously? She thinks herself to be above speaking to the ‘little people’? There are separate rules for her and her people? We think not.

She should have come out and said there is one president of the United States and we have to support him. Try to unite the country she says she loves. She’s spiteful and her true colours are showing. She did call Trump to concede.

The three big losers tonight aside from Hillary Clinton? Obama, mainstream media and Ted Cruz.

Obama’s legacy will be demolished along with Obamacare. Ted Cruz’s political career is over. He best find another occupation. The media? CNN, NBC and all the others who were openly in favour of Clinton will now have to eat their words and take a long look at themselves.

Trump’s work will start immediately as he will have to calm the markets which crashed tonight – worldwide –  when it became obvious that he was going to win.  The world is jittery and guess what? Sometimes what is needed is to turn things completely upside down to be able to start all over again.

As for Hillary…she’s dishonest, secretive, disconnected from the people and part of the old boys club. The ‘simple’ folks were done with those kinds of politicians. They were done with politicians making promises that were never kept. It’s obvious now that every time Michelle and Barack came out to campaign with her was another nail in her coffin. Those in the ivory palace all misread the people.

Many got Obamacare bills over the past week and realized that they were lied to by Obama. They could not keep their doctor or insurance companies and their rates went up over 100%. He lied to the people and that will be his legacy.

One of the ‘pundits’ on CNN, an African American said that Trump’s win is a ‘white lash’. Guess what? He had a black president for 8 years who did nothing for him. He’s right. It was a white lash. But it obviously also a lashing from many other segments of the population which the media said were not supporting Trump: women, latinos and yes, even black people.

Another bite in the behind moment for Hillary is when she called all of Trump’s supporters deplorable. She was speaking about Americans, who, whether or not they supported Trump, were still Americans and not a basket of deplorables.

On a very interesting note, Canada’s immigration site crashed tonight due to the incredible amount of hits.

Then there’s James Comey, head of the FBI. Most likely he will now keep his job. The question remains is whether President Trump will pardon her or continue with the investigation.

Last but not least, may we suggest that the democrats move to California where marijuana was made legal tonight. A coupla puffs and you won’t know who won or lost.

Special Edition of Blanche

This is a special edition of Blanche as tomorrow we will be focusing on the election and have no clue what time it will end, ergo what time Blanche will leave this computer. So we will give you the rest of the news today. Or, whatever else there is to write about together with the US election.

As we have said on more than one occasion, just because someone is loud and abrasive does not mean that they are correct. Such is the case with Montreal’s mayor.

This has to do with phone tapping yet again. Seems a couple of years ago our mayor (before he was mayor) received a $444 fine for driving a car that didn’t have a valid licence plate. Happens to the best of us, eh Blanche?

Well, two years later, after Coderre became mayor, Patrick Lagacé, who’s phone was bugged once before, got wind of rumors at the police department suggesting that Coderre was attempting to use his power as mayor to have the ticket cancelled.

Being a diligent reporter, Lagace began snooping around. The mayor has admitted he telephoned then-police chief Marc Parent to talk about journalist Patrick Lagacé, just before police obtained search warrants to look at Lagacé’s cell phone logs.

Turns out da mayor paid his ticket but his behaviour is, again we say, reminiscent of Richard Nixon. Everyone’s out to get him. He needs either a pill or a shrink or both.

Can someone please splain to Blanche why da Pope is sticking his nose into the US election?
He’s in the religion business last time we looked. And what’s he going to do if Trump wins? Call home  for advice?

Depending on which news site one looks at, both Trump and Clinton are winning or losing. What is particularly nauseating is how much Obama wants her to win and that sickening grin on his face while he runs around campaigning for someone he hates. He’s protecting his ‘legacy’. We wonder when Obamacare falls dead on its face if he will accept blame for it. After all, it has his name on it.

Here’s another interesting tidbit: Both candidates are headquartered in Manhattan, a first. She’s at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and he’s at New York Hilton Midtown. They are a few blocks from each other.

Hillary is certain that she’s winning as she’s building a stage shaped like the United States, complete with outlying pillars for Alaska and Hawaii. To top it off, pardon the pun, the ceiling at the Javits centre is glass, a metaphor for her breaking the ‘glass ceiling’ by becoming the first woman president. Honestly? It’s obvious money is absolutely no object. Spend, spend and spend some more on herself and her friends.

Rumor has it that James Comey, head of the FBI is going to be getting the boot by none other than Loretta Lynn, Attorney General. How sweet that will be for the Clintons, Obamas and Lynn. It will also give the green light to Bill to get those engines revved up for their foundation once his wife is safely in the White House. Ya want to see madame president? Pay up.

It’s pretty obvious that Trump isn’t going to win this election unless all the stars and then some go his way. What is 100% a crap shoot is what will happen if he loses. Will he concede graciously? Will he say the election was rigged and ask for a recount? Will he not only ask for a recount but a new election? Here are some scenarios:

1. At least half of all Trump voters already think that a) the election is rigged or b) their votes won’t be counted. If he does not concede and keeps going on as to how the election was rigged it will be very difficult for her to govern.

2. It could incite violence. Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke encouraged his fellow Trump supporters to take up pitchforks and torches following claims of a rigged election. He’s a real genius. Hee Haw. Giddy-up.

3. He will undermine democracy at its core. Peaceful transfers of power have kept America a stable democracy for centuries. If that tradition ends, it could shake the belief that democracy is effective and cause voters to become more apathetic or adopt a more extreme political ideology.

The biggest question of all is who will be able to stop him if he goes this route? Hopefully his daughter Ivanka who will help him get TNN going. That would be the Trump News Network. At least he would be busy.

Blanche, now you can get the barf bag for real. Here’s a partial list of how much money the airlines made on ancillary revenue aka ticket change fees, penalties, and upgraded seat fees. In total they made over $40 billion.

The winner is United Airlines at $6.2 million. Runners up include: American Airlines at $4.7 million and Delta at $3.8 million. To give you a better taste of what we are talking about, the $6.2 million is 16% of the United Airlines revenue.

Blanche, when this election is over we will be very happy.  It’s been an exhausting, divisive and lower than low few months. The United States is going to need a collective vacation.

We’ll talk…

Special Edition

Another insane, gruesome attack in France, this time in Nice. Different place but same results – ordinary people doing ordinary things on Bastille day in France. This time the modus operendi was even more grisly – a huge truck plowing through hordes of people – men, women, babies in strollers –  zigzagging through the crowd for over a mile until the driver was killed. You know how long a mile is? It is mind-boggling.

The driver was a resident of Nice of Tunisian origin.  Israel has seen these kind of attacks for a long time. Isis issued the call a couple of years aog to kill the infidels any way they can including stabbings and driving trucks into people. This person in Nice took that call literally.

The French people have a huge issue on their hands, one that is almost unsolvable. For decades North Africans have moved into France but were never accepted by French society. It is one of many reasons that often the terrorists are native French-born. They live segregated from the French population, are often unemployed and are ripe to find ‘meaning’ in their life which they get from isis.

Yet, the person who perpetrated this attack does not fit the profile of other terrorists. He was not particularly ‘religious’ and was not on any watch list. It’s almost scarier because it is virtually impossible to find someone like that. Maybe he watched a few videos for a couple of days and made an impulsive decision.

So what is the answer? Not words. Not balloons. Not teddy bears. Not candles. Not flowers. Not marches. Not memorials. Not thoughts and prayers. No kumbaya holding hands singing together. ACTION. Armies from multiple countries sent to completely and totally eradicate isis and their supporters coupled with complete sharing of all information world-wide. That would include sending in moles, as Israel does. Dangerous work. Isis is losing ground in Syria and have moved their sights to terrorist attacks to get their message across. If they are hit on two fronts at once, perhaps it could weaken them enough so they would look impotent to those who value their strength.

Unfortunately, our world has no leadership right now. Obama came out sputtering the same impotent and totally useless words refusing to say it was done by islamic terrorists. He will go down in history as the worst president the United States has ever had, refusing to acknowledge that the world is at war, taking a zero leadership role.

This is a world war and every country must be actively involved. It is a matter of time before they set their sites on other countries.

Doesn’t matter that the French have taken in millions of arabs. They are getting the brunt of these attacks. Remember the Charlie Hebdo attacks when cartoonists drew mohammed? They don’t forget these things. That’s why strength is what is needed.

Not words. Not balloons. Not teddy bears. Not candles. Not marches. Not memorials. Not thoughts and prayers. No kumbaya holding hands singing together. ACTION. Armies from multiple countries sent to completely and totally eradicate isis and their supporters. Nothing else will work. But to do that the world needs leadership. And there is none.

He may be brash, say inane things and rub you the wrong way. But he’s a leader and with good advisors, would have taken action long, long ago.

This is a world war and every country must be actively involved. It is a matter of time before they set their sites on other countries.

Special Edition – Brexit Prevailed

Seems we are in the minority. It was the young people who wanted to stay and the ‘older’ folks who voted to go. As an ‘older folk’, we thought that fear of the unknown would win out in the end. We were wrong.

The vote was close but close only counts in horseshoes.
51.9% leave, 49.1% remain. Other notable numbers:

Scotland: 62% remain – 38% leave.
Wales: 48.3% remain, 51.7% leave.
Northern Ireland: 55.7% remain, 44.3% leave.

Gibraltor, the British overseas territory of 30,000 voted overwhelmingly for remain, with 95.9% opting to stay in the union. Gibraltar has been a British territory since 1713 but Spain continues to claim sovereignty over the enclave. Today they called for joint sovereignty.

Scotland has already made overtures to call another referendum.

Donald Trump is ecstatic at the result. Here’s a short excerpt of the speech he gave while in Scotland:

Come November, the American people will have the chance to re-declare their independence. Americans will have a chance to vote for trade, immigration and foreign policies that put our citizens first. They will have the chance to reject today’s rule by the global elite, and to embrace real change that delivers a government of, by and for the people. I hope America is watching, it will soon be time to believe in America again.

Blanche stands corrected in terms of Trump’s chance to get into the White House in November. After watching this vote, he has a chance – a good one. People are fed up with being told what to do by those who ‘know better’.  More importantly they are done being forced to take in immigrants not properly vetted. Seems they don’t care if there’s a buffoon in at the helm, as long as that person is not part of the establishment.

To say that Europe and by extension the EU and the western world is now sailing in totally uncharted waters is the understatement of the century. It will take at least a couple of years for Britain to extricate themselves from the EU. Lawyers are going to be making a lot of money.

David Cameron resigned. He gambled by calling the referendum that the Brits would never leave the EU and lost the vote, his job and will always be the PM under whose watch the EU was split.

There are now other EU countries who have taken note of the vote. Poland, Hungary, France and Italy for starters.

The sun rose this morning and will set tonight. The anxiety will abate and things will find some kind of normalcy for a while. But make no mistake. The uncertainty will hover over Europe for a very long time. And as we live in a very small world, no country will go totally unscathed by this uncertainty.

We’ll talk…

Ted Cruz Bites the Dust

Yes Blanche, Cruz is gone and Donald Trump is the presumptive Republican nominee running for President of the United States of America.

After watching Trump speak tonight, he seems to be the most shocked that he has come this far. It appears he entered the race to win the ‘game’, perhaps not realizing how high the stakes really were. Mercifully he didn’t gloat, rather rambled slightly less than usual making sure to praise Cruz a few times.

He also beseeched the Republican party to gather together, put away the war of words and unite to fight Hillary. Blanche, can you imagine that in November people will have to choose between Hillary and The Donald? OMG.

Special Edition: Breaking News

It seems that Ted Cruz, running in second place for president of the United States of America had no less than five affairs in the not so distant past.

Why you have not seen this on mainstream TV news outlets, on the internet, on twitter or anywhere else is complicated and we will do our very best to make sense of this story. Before we continue we would be remiss if we did not do a special call-out to Blanche’s deep throat for alerting us to this story.

It was the National Enquirer who broke the story about multiple sexual ‘trysts’ that Cruz had with women. Lest you shudder to believe the National Enquirer, we will remind you that they broke the John Edwards scandal as well as Gary Hart’s ‘Monkey Business’ yacht story and a story about Jesse Jackson.

We will try to thread together the strange parts of this story:

1. Ted Cruz’s twitter account has been silent for two days, leading people to believe he knew this was coming.

2. Twitter is silent about this scandal although tweets are coming in at 100 per minute. Did they know and are trying to protect Cruz?

3. Amanda Carpenter is one of the women cited. She is a CNN contributor. Her twitter account was silent for 18 hours, tweeting a few minutes ago as though nothing is happening.

4. Sarah Isgur Flores is another women cited. In in addition to being a well known political operative, was also the campaign manager for Carly Fiorina. And that little factoid brings an earlier discovery into question; Why did the Super-PAC for Ted Cruz send the Super-PAC for Carly Fiorina $500,000? Could it be money for silence?

5. Breitbart, a well-known online news outlet knew about this story long ago but chose not to disclose it. Why? Read this next part carefully:

Breitbart is owned by pro-Cruz Super-PAC funder Robert Mercer who it seems was one of the roadblocks to the story. The editor, Ben Shapiro, is also being named as one of the political advocates who would not allow his chosen candidate – Cruz – to be ‘outed”. Shapiro is also the Editor of The Daily Wire, which is also owned by a Pro-Cruz Super-PAC team, The Wilks Brothers.

We are guessing that the Republican establishment is beyond panic mode. If these allegations are true, Cruz, the holier-than-thou evangelist is gone. That would almost 100% ensure Trump as the candidate for president.

Unfortunately, silence is not going to make this go away. Although we cannot completely confirm this story, where there’s smoke there’s fire. Stay tuned as it could turn the US election campaign on its head yet again.

Special Super Tuesday Edition

Donald Trump trumped super Tuesday. As of this writing he has won 5 states and will most probably take another 2 or 3.

We watched Hillary speak tonight at a staged rally. We cannot fathom what people see in this woman. She reeks fake. How people can believe one word of what she is saying is beyond us. What totally blew Blanche out of the water was looking at the people behind her as she tried to rally the crowd. There was not one white face. Front and center behind her was a woman with a hijab. There were black people, Asian, Indian and Native Americans. Anything but a white person.

Every move she makes is staged and with an agenda. She is loathsome. And guess what? If we lived in the US we would reserve our special place in he.l because we would not vote for a woman like that.

Trump on the other hand looked and sounded presidential. He did not hold a rally, rather a press conference where he was introduced by Chris Christie, a very unusual move. No rah, rah. No pumping the crowd. He has done that for weeks. He was gracious and congratulated Cruz on winning his two states. After speaking briefly he fielded many questions from reporters. His answers were straight, honest and he sounded normal. He said what many people feel – fed up with governments that use their money with reckless abandon and say they care about the ‘little people’ but do nothing to show it. It’s called contempt.

People may not like Trump’s brash manner, his hair color which is nasty and the long comb-over. But he has come in at the right time, after eight years of Obama who took his country for a long ride nowhere but downhill. His lack of leadership both within the US and worldwide has left a huge void which Trump is willing, ready and able to fill. Guess who we would vote for?

Trump is finding support where he doesn’t necessarily want it. Louis Farrakhan, the Nation of Islam leader and prominent black activist and minister, is a fan of Donald Trump. Guess why?

Trump is the only member who has stood in front of Jewish community, and said I don’t want your money. Before you roll your eyes, get this: Could any other presidential candidate wrangle the vocal support of Farrakhan with one hand and former KKK grand wizard David Duke with the other? No one. It’s like two negatives making a positive.

Michael Applebaum, Montreal’s erstwhile mayor is getting the short end of the stick. While he may in fact be guilty of white collar crime, the fact that he has to wait years and years to get to trial is a travesty of justice.

He was arrested very publicly in May of 2013 and will not go to trial until September 2017. That is insane. Do the courts need a new building here because so many people have trials? Or do we need more lawyers and judges? What’s up here?

One member of Hillary’s family has been conspicuously absent. Her son-in-law, Marc Mezvinsky, Chelsea Clinton’s spouse and only Jew in the family.

Lest you think he’s shy, think again. Mezvinsky was born into politics and grew up surrounded by political ambition and the scandal that sometimes accompanies it. Both his parents were members of Congress, and his father later served time in federal prison for fraud. What are you saying Blanche? He was in the slammer? Yikes.

Here’s the kicker: Mezvinsky is a wealthy hedge fund manager and alumnus of Goldman Sachs. Let’s just say he’s not the poster boy Hillary Clinton is seeking to project right now. Coupled with the fact that Hillary won’t release the speeches she gave to Goldman Sachs, da son-in-law best stay very far in the background.

We’ll talk…
