Yes dearies, the sun rose on the day after the republicans got the whopping of their lives. Trump and his ilk were a train wreck waiting to happen and finally, it happened. They not only flew off the tracks, they rolled down the ravine leaving nothing but dust behind them.

Latinos were beyond upset with him for the ICE fiascos. The farmers and people who use trucks to transport everything from food to furniture, were upset with him over the price of diesel. Moms and dads were upset with him because of the high price of regular gas. And people were just sick and tired of the tone of his administration.

Trump had his day, was where he was supposed to be then and now it's over. It's almost as though G-d created another huge flood, cleaned up and now we are starting over.

Americans now need somebody normal to run their country. Certainly not the likes of AOC, el Sayad and those people. They are the same as Trump but at the other end of the spectrum. People in the US are done, tired of extremism, left or right.

One can only hope that Ron DeSantis can get enough traction and find enough money to make a run for the presidency in 2028. When we say it costs we mean business. The cost of running a presidential campaign is close to $1 billion which means he needs a lot of very rich people to support him.

If you’re thinking about Marco Rubio running for president in the next election, think again. He’s too closely tied to Trump. He needs time to put some distance between himself and this administration and two years won’t cut it.

We can only wait and see how extreme the democrats will be in the next 2 years. If Sayad does what he did on election night, speak arabic, it will not bode well for him. Just like the people turned on Trump they will turn on muslims and America-haters the same way.

For the next 2 months Trump is still in charge of the house and senate. After that, watch out. The democrats are going to veto everything he did in the past two years. It's not going to be pretty.

Blanche, did you ever go to a self-checkout in a supermarket and wonder how easy it would be to cheat the system?

The shelf where you drop your groceries is sensitive to what is put on it. Not the price.

So for example you have an item like a box of cereal that costs $4.99. You scan it and drop it on the shelf. The next item in your cart is a roast that costs $84.99. However, you slyly put an extra box of cereal in your cart. You scan the cereal at $4.99, drop it back into the cart and put the roast on the shelf. Bingo. You have scammed the system and bought a roast for $4.99.

In a duh moment, retailers discovered they still need staff to monitor machines, clear errors, and prevent shoplifting, which basically eliminated the expected labor savings. Half the time the scanner is frozen. Or people can't follow instructions and cannot scan things by themselves.

Stores have found that with self-checkout they have 33% higher losses from intentional theft and accidental scanning/weighing errors. 

All to say self-checkout is going to be a thing of the past.

Greedy store owners thought they would save a fortune by firing cashiers and making customers do the work themselves. Apparently, nobody thought beyond the payroll savings or considered how easily self-checkout could be exploited by someone struggling to afford groceries. They counted the savings before counting what might walk out the door.

We are not the biggest hockey fans but as we live in Montreal, we follow the Montreal Canadiens. On election night, this team beat a record that no one even knew existed.

Until the last 2 minutes of the game, they were leading Winnipeg 4-0. In a stunning reversal of fortune, in the last two minutes, Winnipeg scored 5 goals and won the game.

While we hope this didn't happen, it is not out of the realm of possibilities that they threw the game intentionally. Or at least some of the players did. There's a lot of money involved in gambling.

If that didn't happen, then this team has a very big problem, the biggest of which they just don't seem like they are a team. The only way teams win games as they do in the NFL, is if everybody is on the same page.

Right now, the Habs all seem to be on different pages. It is the coach who is supposed to unite them. Where is he?

Elizabeth May is the leader of the Green Party. She's no looker, that's for sure.

So her endorsement of a nudity petition borders on the absurd. Why else would she be promoting a resolution for people to be able to parade naked around Sidney BC where she lives. Blanche, quick, bring the eyeshades.

Believe it or not, she is sponsoring a petition initiated by a B.C. resident that seeks to allow public nudity, including in parks, on trails and at beaches, provided no other unlawful behaviour is involved.

On trails? Imagine falling down in the bush with no clothes on. Ouch in many places of your body that should have been covered.

If this passes, and it certainly could in the west, you would be pushing your kids on the swing in the park and some random dude, or Elizabeth May herself could walk by in their birthday suit.

This woman is a complete and utter nut-job. This latest endorsement just proves how nuts she really is.

One of Montreal's most beloved kosher bakeries was firebombed two nights ago. It was the second try in a week to destroy the bakery. The first time failed, the second time was successful.

Mimimelon is a niche bakery specializing in peanut-free, tree-nut-free and dairy-free products, serving customers with food allergies as well as Montreal’s Jewish community.

It has been in business since 2009, founded by a woman whose daughter had a severe peanut allergy. Her aim was to create safe, high-quality custom cakes and baked goods.

In 2015 the current owner bought the business and has grown it from being a mom and pop operation to a full-fledged bakery with absolutely delicious and very beautiful custom cakes.

This has all the earmarks of an antisemitic attack, especially that in mid-September someone opened the door to her store and yelled all Jews will burn.

We certainly hope the police will really investigate this and not just give lip service. It is not like the firebombing of the kosher restaurant Noam who immediately said they were not victims of antisemitism.

We also sincerely hope the owner will rebuild as quickly as possible. The loss of her baked goods will be sorely felt by a lot of people.
