Carney is Fudging the Truth at Best, Lying at Worst...Anita Anand Is Just a Fool... Quebec Election Musings...

We watched a very interesting interview done by the CBC with U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer.

He disputed, very clearly and very succinctly, almost every reason Mark Carney gave for the trade talks blowing up. It is to be noted that we are far from fans of the CBC, but in this case, they got it right.

Greer is of the same ilk as Carney. A suit. One of the backroom boys. Unflappable. Doesn't utter an extra word. And so, without theatrics or bluster, he directly contradicted much of Carney's account of who blew up the deal.

Greer said the two sides believed they had struck a deal on Tuesday night.

According to him, it was only after Dominic LeBlanc returned to Ottawa, spoke with Carney and the premiers, and then came back to Washington that Canada arrived with additional requests the Americans considered too much.

He also flatly disputed Carney's characterization of the U.S. demands involving Canada's ability to negotiate with other countries and protections for French language and culture.

That makes the question of why Carney will not show Canadians the deal proposed by the U.S. even more stark. Buddy, let's see it.

If the American proposal was as outrageous, unfair and destructive as Carney says it was, release it. Let Canadians read the words for themselves. Let economists, lawyers, business leaders and provincial governments examine it.

Right now we have two completely different versions of what happened in that room.

Much to his chagrin, Carney was not the smartest guy in the room simply because he assumed he was. In fact, we think he may have met his match in Jamieson Greer.

Carney is asking Canadians to believe him blindly. Well, we don't.

Frankly, we believe Greer because his account was specific, measured and remarkably straightforward. Even with his measured words.

We are guessing that the truth, as always, lies somewhere in the middle.

Which brings us right back to the same place. Show us the deal.

Carney's modus operendi is being secretive and calculating. He wants Canadians to simply accept his version of events because 'he' has spoken. Sorry. That's not accountability. That's arrogance.

If he's right, the document will vindicate him.

If he's wrong, we'll understand why he doesn't want us to see it.

Either way, Canadians deserve to know.

Can someone please send this next piece to our moronic foreign minister Anita Anand, who together with our genius prime minister, keeps sending millions of our dollars to the 'poor palestinians'. They insist that hamas has reformed themselves. That is almost too ridiculous to write.

Israel’s Defense Ministry says drugs were smuggled into Gaza concealed inside humanitarian food aid, citing a report from World Central Kitchen. Yes Madam Anand, hamas is not to be trusted with anything.

According to COGAT, the Israeli military body responsible for coordinating civilian affairs in Gaza, World Central Kitchen discovered the drugs inside packages of canned peppers while aid was being unloaded and food prepared at its kitchens in the Gaza Strip.

The packages reportedly contained six bundles of hashish weighing approximately 600 grams in total, as well as another 160 grams of other illegal substances.

COGAT pointed the finger directly at Hamas, saying the discovery demonstrated that the terrorist organization would exploit humanitarian aid for its own purposes.

The obvious question which should be posed to Madam Anand is this: If drugs can be hidden inside humanitarian food shipments, what else is getting through?

Kamala Harris is the gift that keeps on giving. She's in the news again because yet another slate of Democratic candidates running in the midterm elections has rejected her endorsement because she is toxic.

In fact, she could be, after Hillary Clinton, the most unlikeable politician to grace the campaign trail.

The democratic party is literally in shambles.

On the far right they have socialist anarchists like Mamdani, AOC and Bernie Sanders. In the middle they have people like Kamala Harris. While the media is screaming that Trump will be a lame-duck president after the November midterm elections, we're not so sure.

All he has to do is sit back and watch the democrats implode, which they seem to be doing. Kamala Harris for president in 2028. Bring it on.

Jamieson Greer's interpretation of what happened at the end of the tariff talks is not going over particularly well with much of Canada's media. It doesn't fit the preferred narrative — the one that bends over backwards to accommodate Carney and gives him the benefit of the doubt no matter what he does.

So what are they doing to counter all of this? Focusing on Trump renaming Lake Ontario "Lake America" in the U.S.

Seriously.

We have heard almost no one in the mainstream media entertain the possibility that perhaps — just perhaps — Carney's version of what happened is not the whole truth.

Nope. Far easier to protect the Liberals and, whenever possible, take another swing at Poilievre.

The Quebec Election

Today we saw another version of the same political sleight of hand as Quebec's election campaign got underway. When CAQ leader Christine Fréchette was asked who her biggest rival is, she responded Donald Trump. Of course she did.

It's actually the perfect answer for her.

The PQ has already indicated that it would not hold a sovereignty referendum while Trump is president. In other words, Trump has managed to become a player in a Quebec election without receiving a single vote or setting foot on the campaign trail.

But the PQ may be making a rather large assumption: that Trumpism disappears when Trump does.

What happens if JD Vance wins the next presidential election? Much of Trump's America First approach, particularly the harder line on trade, borders and relations with traditional allies could very well survive him. Then what?

Does the PQ postpone its referendum for another four years? And if another Trump-style Republican follows Vance, do they postpone it again?

The liberals are a losing party. Their new leader is a milquetoast. It appears Eric Duhaime and the conservative party will take much of the Quebec city region. Montreal losers will vote liberal like sleeping sheep.

The CAQ and Frechette will have to distance themselves from the disastrous, mean and incompetent Francois Legault. He, together with people like Bernard Drainville, Pascal Dery and that uber nasty Simon Jolin-Barrette made sure to push the best and brightest professionals and business people out of quebec.

Fréchette is no lightweight. She has already begun distancing herself from the negativity surrounding her party. In fact, you would never know which party she belongs to by looking at her campaign posters. Not a whisper of the CAQ. Just her picture and the words Team Fréchette or, in French, Équipe Fréchette.

Here's what we think: Any french canadian who votes for the pq should get cut off from anything that comes from Ottawa aka the federal government, for about a year. No money. Then they may understand what might have come their way if quebec separates.

No shortage of idiots out there.
