Carney Sets the Gold Standard for Snake-Oil Salesmen...Cruise Ships are Floating Petri Dishes...Mamdani Is Going to get a Rude Awakening...

Although we try to keep up with all the news, there are things that get past us. Mercifully we have readers who make sure we know the lay of the land. As such, we learned that our new governor general Madam Louis Arbour is in the same anti-zionist, aka antisemitic, aka Israel is the aggressor club as Mark Carney.

Our tipoff should have been her being in bed with the UN. The raison d'etre of that useless organization is to always paint Israel as the big bad ogre. And Madam Arbour was front and center in that quest.

There was a detailed article in today's National Post written by Beryl Wajsman entitled A Slap in the Face for Jewish Canadians. I humbly suggest a more biting title: Jewish Canadians Betrayed in Plain Sight.

In choosing Madam Arbour to be the new GG, Carney knew very well where she stood vis-a-vis the Jewish people and Israel. Just as he did, Madam Arbour insinuated that whenever Israel defended itself, they were in fact committing war crimes.

As per Mr. Wajsman: ...In subsequent statements on Gaza, she condemned Israeli operations in stark terms, stressing violations of international humanitarian law and the toll on civilians. These were not offhand remarks; they were formal pronouncements from the UN's highest human rights authority.

Carney and Arbour come from the same woke, liberal, new world order very private club.

Part of being included in that club and rising in the ranks in the UN is hatred of Israel and, perforce, hatred of Jews. Most of the time this is subtle. But when you are part of the UN, subtly takes a back seat and one is able to be open about how they feel about both Israel and Jews. As Madam Arbour did.

And this peeps is who Mr. Carney appointed as our new governor general. In case you were unsure about exactly how sneaky Carney is, you don't have to wonder any longer. He is the gold standard of snake-oil salesmen.

She is the anti-Semitic, terror-sympathizing wife of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani. She liked posts celebrating October 7th. She's a serious piece of drek living in Gracie Mansion.

This past week she happened to be in a Brooklyn coffee shop and who should walk in, unbeknownst to her? The very beautiful and very Jewish Melanie Shiraz, reigning Miss Israel 2025.

Shiraz recognized Duwaji but not the other way around. They spoke briefly and took a selfie together. Sounds very innocuous so far.

Alas, Duwaji found out that she was sitting next to and interacting with a Jew and not just any Jew. The Jew. Right now the face of Israel. What did she do? She ran out of the coffee shop like a bat outta hell. And herein lies the essence of the division between the left and right.

Conservatives are able to listen to someone else's ideas. Lefties like this beauty? If you don't ascribe to their way of thinking they bolt and run for the hills or in our case, for the door.

Are they unable to defend their beliefs? Are they afraid that if they hear what we believe they will be tainted forever? We believe it is both of these things.

Why is it that when our foreign minister Anita Anand speaks she sound like she's talking to five year olds? She. Pauses. For. A. Long. Time. Between. Each. Word. Can she not think faster than a toddler?

She was giving a basic presser about the people stuck onboard a cruiseship because some people had come down with the hantavirus.

Anand said federal government officials are in contact with four Canadians onboard the ship and will be in the Canary Islands to monitor their disembarkment from the vessel “to ensure that all public health protocols are followed.”

This is not rocket science. She is not being asked to give over a quantum physics equation. Why can't she put two sentences together in a coherent way?

While we are on the subject of cruises, while we know people who are lifelong 'cruisers', this would be the last vacation we would ever take. We have heard way too many similar versions of what is happening now on this particular ship.

When you put 3,000 people together on a floating hotel, they are all basically living in a petri dish, one sneeze away from turning the buffet line into a public health experiment.

Now that you met his wife, we will give you a few tidbits about Mamdani himself.

During his run for mayor of New York he promised the perfect dream for those living off government assistance and those thinking about doing so. Frozen rents, free city buses, and city-run grocery store.

The question of course is who is going to pay for all these socialist pipe dreams?

It appears Mamdani was going to nail the many multi-millionaires and billionaires living in NYC. Alas, his dream is slowly fading as those with the real money are leaving NY quietly and with little fanfare. They are not going to be his piggy bank.

Apollo Global Management paid more than $1 billion in income taxes in the past 2 years. The owner, Marc Rowan has been seen scouting locations in Miami and Palm beach as well as Austin Texas.

Mamdani did a very stupid thing while running for mayor. He stood in front of billionaire hedge fund manager Ken Griffin's midtown penthouse to tout his plan for “pied à terre” tax which would slap additional taxes on second homes valued at over five million dollars.

And now, Mr. Griffin is looking to move to Miami.

As per Mr. Griffin...“New York City is losing its competitive edge and Mayor Mamdani makes it far less competitive. Investors and job creators have options and they will go where they’re treated well. Increasingly New York City has treated them inhospitably."

Mr. Mamdani is doing, on a much larger scale, what Valerie Plante did to downtown Montreal. She destroyed it with no accountablity. Rather she gave the city the middle finger and went on her merry way.

Mamdani will be remembered for the same thing. We're guessing he cannot completely destroy New York City, but he can do a lot of damage.

Both Plante and Zohran Mamdani are examples of politicians who treat ideology like a grand experiment while ordinary people are left to deal with the fallout, the bills, and the wreckage.
