CUSMA: Not Happening...And The Point Is?...1000 Days Since October 7...The Word Salad is Back...

As predicted, Trump did not renew the CUSMA trade agreement between Canada, Mexico and the US. Even though Carney wants us to buy into his Mr. No Drama, there are going to be real reprucussions for Canada.

Let's start with the obvious: Canada depends on the American market far more than the United States depends on Canada. Which, on the ground means uncertainty resulting in companies delaying investments.

For example, a manufacturer deciding whether to build a $500 million plant in Ontario may simply wait until it knows what the trade rules will be five years from now. In other words, uncertainty is already discouraging investment in Canada even though the agreement itself remains in force. So much for Carney's arrogant who cares attitude.

What does the US really want by not signing the agreement?

Let's start with the one item we have been harping on for months: Canada's very protected dairy industry is a thorn in the side of the US. They (as do Canadians) want more access to our markets. The price of our dairy products is literally highway robbery.

Next up are our new agreements with the Chinese who are never to be trusted. The US wants restrictions on Chinese content entering through North America and Canada is giving Trump the finger on this one.

We are getting 49,000 EV's which may not be allowed into the US. Not to be a conspiracy theorist, which we are not, but we do believe that the Chinese will embed some kind of device in the cars they ship to Canada. Carney either doesn't care or doesn't believe that will happen.

What's next? Any of the parties can opt out of the agreement by giving six months notice. Trump is a volatile person and this is a reality that cannot be ignored.

Our prime minister shares nothing with us plebs and has us believing that he is making deals of the century with Europe and trans Pacific countries.

While time will tell if he is telling the truth, it is his attitude of not sharing anything with Canadians because he considers us too stupid to understand what he is doing that is particularly infuriating, giving him an air of self-importance that is beyond obnoxious.

You may think Trump isn't particularly smart or that he acts on impulse and you would be correct. But be careful not to underestimate him. Trump appears to be playing Carney like a violin, feeding into what many see as Carney's arrogance and sense of self-importance.

Carney may be highly intelligent and accomplished, but Trump possesses a different kind of intelligence, political instinct and street smarts. More often than not, those instincts have allowed him to outmaneuver opponents who underestimated him.

A masked man and woman decided that yesterday was the perfect day to climb to the top of the Empire State building and then go even higher to the top of the spire. After they climbed back down to where there was a small shelf to stand on, he proposed to her. And they did all of this with no safety harnesses.

This delightful couple pulls these stunts all over the world. Very nice for them. However...

Touring the top of the most photographed building in the world is a costly affair. General admission for the main observation deck on the 86th floor starts at $44 for adults, $42 for seniors, and $38 for children. From the 86th & 102nd Floors both decks start at $79 for adults and $73 for children.

So Morris prebooked tickets this tour for the last day of his vacation with his wife Agnes, his three kids and his in-laws Martha and Ed. Alas, those two selfish climbing bozos have an insatiable need to be famous on social media, so the observations decks were closed for the day.

Here's our take: Climb at night, not during the day when your antics turn hundreds of people's vacations into a spectator sport, cause massive traffic jams and ruin other people's plans. We hope the fine is every bit as memorable as the climb. And no, it's not funny.

As written by Amit Segal who we follow...On October 7 at 6:29 a.m., the old world ended and a new world began.

We don't live in Israel and as such, are not entitled to any opinion on anything that goes in there. We can however, opine on one very flagrant issue which is Netanyahu's refusal to form a state commission of inquiry into how October 7 could have happened.

The reason this is coming to light today is that it is 1000 days since October 7. Survivors and regular Israeli's, even those who support Netanyahu, are beside themselves that their Prime Minister refuses to create this commission of inquiry.

Netanyahu knows serious holes in Israel's defence system will come to light as well as the failure of the IDF and Mossad to foresee that horrific day. They thought, wrongly, that throwing money at gaza would supress any attacks on Israel. Clearly that thinking was fatally flawed.

We are not one of those hate Bibi people, but ignoring the facts on the ground is not going to make them go away. Eventually, even if it is after he has left office, there will be an inquiry and he will most likely come out looking very, very bad.

In the meantime, October 7 is still tearing Israel apart, as is which side of Bibi you are on.

This time of year the news tends to slow down, but thankfully Kamala Harris is always ready to provide fresh material.

Zohran Mamdani confirmed Wednesday that he has been in contact with former Vice President and failed presidential candidate.

With Mamdani as New York City's next mayor and Harris, at least for now, considered a leading contender for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination, we would have liked to be a fly on the wall listening to that gruesome twosome.

We simply cannot believe that anyone would entertain, even for a nanosecond, Harris as anything but a spectacularly bad idea masquerading as a serious candidate. She has developed a reputation for delivering word salads which raises the obvious question: how exactly did Mamdani even follow the conversation?

Unless, of course, Harris wasn't sent to persuade him at all, but rather to reassure the progressive wing of her own party that everything is proceeding according to plan.

If you've been paying attention, you've watched a growing number of Democratic politicians embrace positions that are sharply critical of Israel while aligning themselves with the pro-Palestinian movement.

New York City, Illinois, Colorado, Detroit, Minneapolis, Chicago, Denver, and parts of Philadelphia have all elected progressive Democrats who have made hostility and hatred of Israel and Jews a defining feature of their political identity.

This did not happening overnight.

It is a sneaky, innocuous shift, much like the changes that first took hold on many university campuses before finding their way into electoral politics and it is undeniable that it has become an influential force within parts of the Democratic Party.

Now we ask you, is Kamala Harris the one to stop this, even within her own party? The answer is no.

But worse than that is the fact that those who sent her are, without a doubt part of that 'progressive cabal'. They know exactly what she is capable of, and it is not making peace within that party.

Happy July 4th

to all our American readers.

your are so right about the dairy farmers having total control over their products,

last week i paid $4.08 for a dozen eggs at wal mart, this week i paid $5.18 for the same dozen,

why?

we spend our winters in florida and even though i am buying groceries with us$, it is still much cheaper than here,

eggs can cost me anywhere from $1.00 -$1.49 a doz,

not fair, not right,
