Dear Israel: On Behalf of Jews Worldwide, Thank You...Armed Security Guards...Our Elected Politicians are For Sale...

All Israeli's, men, women and children, are again on the front line. They are taking the brunt of endless missiles being fired at them during this current war. In reality, they are protecting the rest of us in the Diaspora.

We read one women's account of what they are going through. In case you didn't know, most of the sirens come at night mainly in the Tel Aviv environs. All night. So for the past almost 2 weeks, nobody has had a normal night's rest.

This whole country has jet lag, and it feels like we're up with a newborn baby all night. What day is today? Can you pass me the chocolate?

On behalf of our readers, we are publicly thanking Israeli's for continously being on the front line and doing so with no drama. There are no people like the Jewish people.

Today there was yet another attack on a synagogue which also houses a preschool. This time it was in West Bloomfield which is a suburb of Detroit.

A car loaded with explosives rammed the building but the person driving the car was 'neutralized' by the armed trained security guards before he could do any harm to anyone. The key word here is 'armed'. In fact, two weeks ago the FBI provided an active shooter training seminar for security, leadership, clergy and staff of that synagogue.

Here's the kicker: You need a gun to protect yourself against an active shooter. Who knew?

It is 100% impossible to stop an armed intruder with a walkie talkie, or a baton, or by nicely asking him to stop. Nothing will stop someone determined to do harm to Jews except a gun. Period.

And the $10 million Carney has allocated for yet more unarmed security guards or for unarmed civilians to stand outside buildings? He can take that money and put it where the sun don't shine.

Until our security guards are armed, all of this is worth nothing. It is pure window dressing.

And somebody should tell that to Mr. Carney who doesn't give a rats about the Jews in Canada. He cares about staying in power.

The bad guys have guns. The good guys need to have them as well to protect innocent people.

And one more thing about all of this: Politicians weigh how a policy position will affect support among voters in their respective ridings. Clearly for Carney, it doesn't pay him to pander Jews because we don't have the numbers that muslims do.

So in essence, we are literally pissing in the wind thinking that Carney is going to help the Jews in Canada. He doesn't need our votes and that's the only thing that counts for him.

Paint this on your forehead: Jews in Canada are on their own.

And if that is the case, which it clearly is, it boggles the mind how, as a Jew, Housefather stays in that party. Because no matter what he says or how hard he whines, he will not move the needle one inch. It's all about the number of votes and we don't count.

We need to live in the world as it is, not as we wish it was. Somebody please pass that message to Carney et al.

One of our very astute Blanche readers sent us a clip of Michal Cotler Wunsh.

She is an amazing ambassador for Jews world wide who lives in Ra'anana, a suburb of Tel Aviv. Her words are even more poignant this afternoon than when we first wrote them this morning:

"It is literally open season on Jews around the world and on Jewish houses of worship.

...That is the normalization of antisemitism and that always sounds sirens to the normalization of extremism.

...The normalization of antisemitism that has been met by silence, by indifference, by impunity, including from political and academic leaders brings the normalization of extremism."

So our Prime Minister Mark Carney continues to mouth empty platitudes, but does nothing to bring an end to what has now become the normalization of extremism.

Today we heard that the Government of Canada has committed more money, this time $10 million through its Anti-Racism Strategy, including $70 million for community organizations to combat antisemitism and enhance security for Jewish institutions.

Can we talk?

Instead of throwing money away on security which does nothing as we are witness to, how about arresting those who are shooting at schools or arresting the imams in mosques who are riling up their congregations and, get this, deporting them back to where they came from.

Or how about this one: Allow security guards and those with a license to carry guns when they go to synagogue. As they do in the US where, for sure in NY and Florida, at least five guys are 'packing' when they go to shul on a Shabbos or holiday.

Anti racism strategy is yet another political word salad which accomplishes nothing on the ground except perhaps hiring another security guard with no means of protecting anybody.

On September 10, 2025 the NDP member of parliament for Nunavut, Lori Idlout said this: "I am disgusted by the Carney government's response to Nunavut."

Seven months later (yesterday) she crossed the floor to join the liberals.

The question everyone is asking is what did Carney promise to buy her floor crossing?

And the answer is:

Last month, the Liberals announced $230 million of new funding for Nunavut, or about $6,000 per person in the territory. Plus they have committed to building a university there. Now Nunavut’s NDP MP, Lori Idlout, floor crossing to join the Liberals makes perfect sense. He bought her.

This is a very dangerous and sly game Carney is playing. Even if it 'goes on' in politics, as media political pundits are saying. A nothingburger. Oh really now.

People who live in democratic countries vote with, as we now see, the naive belief that their vote counts. In fact, many people do their due diligence and read up about the different candidates running in their riding. They are called responsible citizens.

What Carney is doing and which the media is choosing to back up, is pushing Canada toward banana-republic territory. In those countries, politicians are bought, sold, and bribed. In those countries, elections are not democracy at work, they are political theatre.

Perhaps when the next election is called, those running should be forced to sign a contract that if they want to cross the floor, they must call a by-election.

Gifting, bribing, promising or whatever Carney is doing to get 4 members of parliament in 4 months to cross the floor stinks and undermines our democracy.

Mark Carney says Canada will never participate in the U.S./Israel military campaign against Iran: "Canada is not participating in the offensive operations of Israel and the United States and will not ever."

Nobody asked him to, nobody wants us there and we have nothing physical to offer.

Another version of Carney putting on a show about a seat at the table Canada doesn’t have. As he said at Davos, if you’re not at the table, you’re on the menu. Sadly, Canada is not only on the menu, but it's in the side dishes section.

Second...what exactly do people like Tucker Carlson and Candace Owen think will happen as they continuously spew hatred toward Jews? We'll tell you. Exactly what happened in West Bloomfield today.

Mentally unhinged people looking for purpose end up in the darkest corners of the internet with isis and other extremists, and after soaking up the rhetoric from Carlson and Owens, convince themselves they’re on a mission.

Those two in particular have blood on their hands. Jewish blood. That's what they want for their legacy?
