One of the things Trump said after Lutnick blew up the tariff talks was that quebec's Bill 96 language requirements affecting product labels, trademarks and commercial information are a“technical barrier to trade". Good morning America. Do politicians in quebec think that no one knows what's going on here?

Trump is 100% correct.

Carney's response was fake and he was lying through his teeth. He said Quebec's language laws are not an irritant to business. Who exactly does he think he's kidding?

Quebec's language laws are one of the biggest irritants to doing business in quebec, which is a huge trading partner with the US. Those laws are petty, intrusive, bureaucratic and an unnecessary obstacle for anyone trying to do business in Quebec.

They force companies to spend time and money complying with rules that often seem designed more to police language than to promote commerce. And Trump knows all of this.

Back to Carney...

In case you were not aware, for the past 8 months rather than negotiating with Trump and his people, Mark Carney was running around the world making all kinds of 'deals' with China, Europe and other countries. He ignored the tariff situation until he had no choice but to face it.

Then, while he was negotiating, he never told us plebs what was going on. Trust us. We know better than all you little people. It's on a need to know basis and you don't need to know. Well, clearly he didn't know better and instead of a deal we got a massive failure.

At the 11th hour, Howard Lutnick came into the room and blew up the talks. Stupid move as it serves no economic purpose for either country. We are not quite sure why that happened and are presenting one possible reason:

Mark Carney thinks he's the smartest person in the room. Not.

Carney is an arrogant you-know-what who got caught with his pants down. Trump and Lutnick figured out pretty quickly that Carney thinks he’s the smartest guy in every room he walks into. The problem is, so do they. And swagger is a lot less impressive when the people sitting across the table aren’t buying it.

We are now faced with 80% of businesses in Canada who ship to the US, looking down the barrel of deadly tariffs - and we mean deadly as many of those businesses will not survive a 50% tariff aka punishment.

As for Doug Ford, the guy is an 18 wheeler on steroids. He held back from saying anything for 2 days after the talks ended and then he let loose. This will go down in history as one of the best one-liners ever: "I have a lot of real estate on my ass, so he has a lot of room to kiss my ass”.

You may think Ford sounds like a truck driver but one thing is certain: he's not cowtowing to Trump. He's standing up to him and perforce to Lutnick et al.

Unlike Carney who thinks holding all his cards close to his chest is the way to go, Ford believes that if you stand up to a bully, they back down. Time will tell who is right but we are putting our money on Ford who doesn't pretend he's the smartest person in the room. He is not secretive and tells it like it is. We much prefer that tactic.

Sorry peeps, but Anthony Housefather looks like a grinning idiot. He is a member of parliament? Seriously?

What the heck is Anthony Housefather doing in Florida, going door to door campaigning for a Democrat named Debbie Wasserman Schultz? Not only did he campaign for her, he had his picture with her floating around people's lawns. She's his friend? And so? He is a sitting member of Canada's parliament.

Does he not know that is called election interfering? He is not American. He has less than zero business campaigning for someone running for congress there. And if you think for a millisecond that Trump and his people don't know what that moron did, think again.

She's also not the brightest chip in the box. Who wants someone who looks like a clown running around saying vote for her, vote for her.

We are guessing she's good friends with little Anthony and as he basks in the attention, she’s apparently happy to play court jester. Loyalty is one thing. Making yourself look ridiculous in the process is quite another.

Trump and his people follow everything, every move, of every Canadian politician. Housefather cannot show his face anywhere in his own riding. So instead he's running to Florida to campaign for someone else?

Wait until we have an election call here. How is it going to look when American, or Chinese, or Indian or Mexican politicians come to Montreal or Toronto to campaign for a conservative candidate? You can be very sure Carney and Housefather will not be happy but they won't be able to say a thing.

One would think that someone who was able to get elected to parliament would be smart enough to see the reprecussions of a stunt like this. Clearly, Mr. Housefather is not smart enough. What a fool.

Last night, one of Montreal's political parties, Project Montreal tried to pass a motion where Montreal would cut all institutional ties with the Israeli government, Israeli institutions and Israeli municipalities.

The motion was heavily amended and passed. The bigger question is what business does a political party in Montreal have telling Israel how to run its country or accuse Israel of being an 'apartheid' state.

The amended motion 'kindly' removed the demand that Montreal suspend its institutional ties with the Israeli government, Israeli institutions and Israeli municipalities. It also removed language accusing Israel of maintaining an “apartheid” regime and stripped out most of the language characterizing the war as a “genocide.”

However...the motion shifted its emphasis toward solidarity with Palestinian civilians and other civilian victims of the conflict, while adding language emphasizing diversity, inclusion and social cohesion in Montreal.

Last we looked, Montreal has its own very interesting set of problems, the least of which is driving while black, meaning if you are black and driving a fancy car you will most likely get pulled over because the police think you stole the car.

Solidarity with palestinian civilians? Idiots. There is no such place as palestine ergo there cannot be palestinians. That name was created by yassar arafat. It's made up. Gaza is in Israel. Before 1948 Israel was called palestine. No longer. That ship sailed.

Someone please tell mental midgets who sit in Montreal's city hall to go read a history book and then come back and make their moronic motions. Shame on them.

If you are planning to buy a phone, stove, washing machine, electronics, lip gloss, eyemakeup or nail polish, best buy your items before September 8. After that date, Canada is putting a 50% tariff on those products coming into Canada from the USA.

This of course is in retaliation to the tariffs the US placed on Canadian products.

During this useless economic war, those with money will fair much better than those living on fixed incomes. It appears not many food products were touched so that's a bit of a relief.

And by the way, Carney has yet to show us the list of what is being tariffed. Just saying.
