Right now, the unhappiest person in the province of quebec is the leader of the parti quebecois is Paul St-Pierre Plamondon (aka PSP), hell-bent on holding a referendum when he got elected premier.
Alas for him, with Legault resigning, the entire political landscape just shifted. This is akin to the Andreas fault in California shifting under the ground.
Up until yesterday, the upcoming October election was a given: the caq would lose almost all their seats, the liberals needed to find a new leader and were a crapshoot, the conservative party has about 13% of the vote and the pq were destined to win.
Mercifully, clearly with G-d's help, we are most likely going to be spared a referendum which would have economically crippled quebec.
The pq are a one trick pony not caring a hoot that 66% of quebecers do not want a referendum. Foolishly, that is all their erstwhile leader, PSP talks about. Not the failing healthcare system, not the backward education system, not the crumbling roads and infastructure, not the rust on the newly constructed Champlain bridge. Nope.
All he talks about is the country of quebec. Here's a headline for PSP: The majority of quebecers, want to go to work, have a Labatt on their way home, eat dinner and watch TV. They do not want the drama that comes with potential separation, nor do they want to lose their pensions from Canada.
The new political landscape is the exact scenario Pierre Poilievre faced. As long as Justin stayed in power, Pierre was going to sweep the election. Alas, Justin left and you know the rest.
Same in quebec. There will be 2 new leaders, Eric Duhaime from the conservative party and Plamondon from the pq to choose from. Because of the two new leaders-to-be, it will be much more difficult for the pq leader to drag us into the referendum circus.
This story is just beginning.

Blanche, have you seen Greta Thunberg's flotilla on the way to Iran? What? She's not going? Wait.
Tens of thousands of people are being killed, this is a real genocide and she's not going? Where is her keffiyah? What about the poor iranians? What about the real genocide happening there?
Oh wait. Of course she's not going. There are no Jews involved. Who cares about 20,000 men, women and children slaughtered in Iran if they are not Jews. Clearly not little Greta.

Did you know that the UN announced the famine in gaza is over? Did you see the protesters cheering in the streets that the 'poor palestinians' now have enough food? Did the UN make a big announcement about this?
No to all of the above because all of the attacks on Israel weren’t about the people of Gaza at all.
Maybe send a note to the media for pretending it was a food-crisis-turned-miracle when, in fact, it was neither. It was all about damaging Israel and her people.

Sometime in March of this year, the NDP are going to elect a leader at their convention to replace Jagmeet Singh who foolishly propped up Justin for 10 years leaving himself the legacy of a lapdog.
Leading the pack of losers is the biggest loser of all, a Jewish candidate by the name of Avi Lewis. If the name sounds familiar it's because his grandfather David Lewis was one of the founding members of the NDP.
Avi Lewis is a self-hating Jew. His raison d'etre is criticizing everything Israel does... dripping with misguided passion. He went after CIJA (Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs) saying they do not speak for all Jews and have promoted "anti-Palestinian racism". Seriously.
He and his cohorts insist that anti-Israel demonstrations, encampments, vandalism, graffiti and incidents of harassment are not antisemitic, even if these actions go so far as to openly and strongly oppose the existence of Israel as a Jewish state.
Wait. This gets better. Avi Lewis is married to Naomi Klein, also a virulent self-hating Jew.
She firmly believes that Zionism is a deeply immoral ideology that has led to the oppression and dispossession of Palestinians. She equates it with an apartheid system and as such is a big supporter of BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions).
She is a loud advocate for Palestinian rights and self-determination, and loves to criticize Israeli actions as war crimes and an ongoing 'genocide', particularly regarding Gaza's infrastructure and population. Wait a minute. What's she going to talk about now that the 'famine' is over?
The NDP can also choose to elect Heather McPherson, a virulent Jew-hater.
Quite the little political party they have there. One has to wonder if they feel the same way about black or Asian people or is their bigotry just directed at Jews.

The lines below, courtesy of one of Blanche’s astute readers, underscore the maddening reality that in this province, policy is often executed with the cognitive bandwidth of a gnat.
Part of the Réseau express métropolitain (REM) was down today due to “weather conditions.” When they built it the engineers thought it was M for Miami, not M for Montreal.
In fact, the trains were built in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, India. In case you were wondering, they do not have winter. Rather, Sri City has a tropical savanna climate generally hot and humid throughout the year.
And we agree with our reader. The geniuses in quebec who contracted the trains out to India didn't make sure that those constructing these trains knew they were for Montreal which has winter. Not for Miami which has no winter.
Ergo, the outdoor trains not working in the dead of winter during a snowstorm. Duh.

Mark Carney is now in China making all kinds of deals with the oppressive Chinese communist party of president Xi.
Here's who we are getting into bed with:
Reporter: "We have to use burner phones coz they spy on us."
Melanie Joly: "Yes but we are having some really great meetings."
If Joly has to use a burner phone because the chinese are spying and listening to every conversation she is having, how exactly are Carney et al doing business with them and better yet, bragging about it?

There was a U.S. Senate hearing in Washington on Health, Education, Labor & Pensions (HELP).
At that hearing, a dialogue took place between Dr. Nisha Verma an OBGYN and professor at Emory and Senator Josh Hawley (who is a slime ball himself).
Stunningly (or not) this beauty could not or would not answer a basic question from Hawley on whether men can get pregnant. She also uses terms like 'people' who menstruate.
This Dr. Verma is one sick puppy.
Here's a headline for her:
A man cannot and never will become pregnant.
A man cannot and will not ever menstruate.
Frankly, we don't believe she ever went to medical school. It's just not possible.
And, we really, really hope Trump gets wind of this. He will make absolute minced meat out of her and rightly so.
Good Shabbos,
We'll talk...
