Kudos to Our Incumbent Mayor Jeremy Levi...Negativity Doesn't Work...Project Montreal Done...

ree

As we have said here on multiple occasions, negative and mud-slinging campaigning is a dead end and turns people off.

Tell people what you’ll do for them. How you will better their life. Harping on what you think someone else did wrong is a recipe for losing and the proof is in the results.

In Hampstead, Mayor Jeremy Levi won by a small number, but he won, he is Hampstead's mayor and we wish him a heartfelt mazel tov.

Bill Steinberg didn't come close to the word win and should quietly hang up his election gear.

As for the rest of the election:

Soraya Martinez Ferrada is the new mayor of Montreal. She is the leader of Ensemble Montreal and won beating out Luc Rabouin of Project Montreal who quit as leader last night. He gives bad loser new meaning.

In fact, Project Montreal lost their shirt in many ridings as their main 'project' was the slow, painful demise of Montreal.

Valerie Plante, their now invisible ex-leader, will be most remembered as the mayor who slowly suffocated Montreal's downtown.

Yes, the bike lanes are insanity, but that's a relatively easy fix.

To get people back downtown is a much more daunting task, starting with putting an end to the endless, useless and timeless tearing up of roads, paving them, tearing them up again, paving them again - you get the picture.

Madame Plante single-handedly took the heart and soul of Montreal and tried to bury it. That will be her legacy.

Stephanie Valenzuela in CDN-NDG beat ex-mayor Gracia Kasoki Katahwa who lived in an ivory tower and who considered her constitutents to be her loyal subjects. The media is saying this was an upset. No it wasn't.

This Gracia chick has an arrogant, 'very special' do-you-know-who-I-am attitude. We will cite the bike lanes on Terrebonne, where her constitutents pleaded with her that this was a huge mistake and she couldn’t have cared less. She basically spit in their faces and kept the bike lane. They were the plebs and SHE was the queen. Good riddance to her.

Westmount showed good judgment electing Michael Stern as their mayor. If he follows Hampstead mayor Jeremy Levi’s example, the Greene Avenue circus aka protests, by the Israeli consulate will be over in short order.

And one more thing about Montreal's new mayor.

If she learned anything from watching Plante, the one thing she should take away is this: After listening to what your residents are saying, act upon it as quickly as you can. Show them that you value their input and that your listening is not lip service.

We'll talk...
