Not that we are the biggest hockey aficionado, nor do we know all the rules of the game, but we do know one thing: when someone is sucker-punched or sucker-hit as was the case last night’s hockey game, the punishment should not be a five minute misconduct penalty.
As long as Jake Evans of the Habs is out with a concussion, Mark Scheifele of the Jets should not be allowed to play. That hit was beyond vicious. Scheifele could have easily moved over and he would have avoided Evans. Instead he hit him straight on like a mack truck.
What kind of example is this for children to see? Or anyone for that matter. It’s not ok to beat the daylights out of someone on the street but it’s ok in a hockey game? That hit was not ‘part of the game’. It was deliberate. Shame on the NHL.
Not only is the catholic church remaining silent in the face of the discovery of 215 children’s bodies in a mass grave, but they refuse to give up any of the ‘secret’ files, known as the Canon 489 files.
From the pope down, the church is one massive corrupt organization. Always was, always has been. And now it’s out in the open for all to see. As the saying goes, when the fish stinks, it stinks from the head down.
Do they really think that by hiding files people will stop asking to see them? Does the pope think that after many more mass graves will be found, people will remain ambivalent? Eventually, those files will be opened and then the church’s dirty, disgusting secrets will be visible to all the world to see.
Here’s a good one: New Yorker taxpayers are paying $900 an hour for Andrew Cuomo’s legal fees. The mayor is being charged with multiple allegations of sexual harassment, allegations that he used staffers to write the book about his handling of the coronavirus pandemic, and allegations that he and his staff attempted to deceive the public by hiding the true number of nursing home deaths that occurred after Cuomo’s administration mandated nursing homes accept COVID-positive patients.
The costs for Cuomo’s endless defense tab thus far total $2.5 million. At a recent press conference, Cuomo was asked if he was paying for any additional attorneys with his own money or from his campaign fund, to which he responded, “Not at this time.”
This guy has kahoonas bigger than the Empire state building.
Big changes happening in Israel. Nobody knows where this will take the country but for now at least there’s no election on the horizon and Bibi is out.
Here’s the scoop: According to the coalition agreement, Naftali Bennett of the Yamina party will serve first as prime minister, followed by Lapid of the Yesh Atid party in 2023. The next step is for the Knesset to vote to approve the deal. Barring any unforeseen developments, Netanyahu’s 12-year tenure will end within two weeks.
Bennett is even more right-wing than Netanyahu and at 49, he will be the first Orthodox prime minister. However, and this is a big however, the small Arab party called Ra’am are one of the two parties holding the key to his survival.
In the end, Bennett has a massive balancing act to perform. He will need to continue some settlement activity in the West Bank — enough to maintain support within his own Yamina party, but not so much as to arouse the anger of the left. Who wants that job anyway?
Good luck to anyone voting for the mayor of Montreal. Valerie Plante wants to make the city car-free and has single-handedly succeeded in killing the downtown area and Denis Coderre still has his do-you-know-who-I-am attitude. Balarama Holness who is also running wants free bus and metro rides for students. Who’s paying for them?
One minute. You never heard of Balarama Holness? He’s an activist running for mayor of Montreal. While he most likely won’t win – with about the same odds as a sleet storm in the July – he may upset the votes for both save-the-world-trees-turtles Plante and do-you-know-who-I-am Coderre.
We are not delving deeply into the over 3,000 Fauci emails released recently. We are only asking one question: Why Fauci did not disclose, for a very long time, that his institute was funding that Wuhan lab?
In a very detailed, well-written and logical article put out by the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, the lab escape scenario, a Wuhan origin for the virus, is a no-brainer.
Wuhan is home to China’s leading center of coronavirus research where researchers were genetically engineering bat coronaviruses to attack human cells. They were doing so under the minimal safety conditions. If a virus with the unexpected infectiousness of SARS2 had been generated there, its escape would be no surprise.
“The records of the Wuhan Institute of Virology certainly hold much relevant information. But Chinese authorities seem unlikely to release them given the substantial chance that they incriminate the regime in the creation of the pandemic.”
“They suppressed all records at the Wuhan Institute of Virology and closed down its virus databases. They released a trickle of information, much of which may have been outright false or designed to misdirect and mislead. They did their best to manipulate the WHO’s inquiry into the virus’s origins, and led the commission’s members on a fruitless run-around. So far they have proved far more interested in deflecting blame than in taking the steps necessary to prevent a second pandemic.”
We reiterate – Fauci’s institute was funding this lab. He had to have known something but kept the bat-wet market scenario going until the above article was released a couple of weeks ago. This is not over by a long shot.
While Quebec has its fair share of insanity, Ontario has officially gone off the charts. Doug Ford simply does not have a handle on the pandemic, which in many, many places is pretty well over. Did you know that you still cannot get a haircut in Ontario for another month? Or go to a restaurant? Or go to a store? Is that insane?
Ford is banking on ‘models’ shown to him by what are called covid-facists – medical people who show him worst case scenario charts. Instead of surrounding himself with two sides of the argument, he has put all his eggs in this one basket.
And so far, those models have all been wrong. In the end peeps, the grass ain’t any greener on the other side.
Good Shabbos We’ll talk…
