We have been writing Blanche for many years but this is the first time we have actually seen a party, a group of entitled, egotistical politicians who had only disdain for those who voted them in, see accountability for their actions.

They were wiped out. Obliterated. Decimated. Eradicated. Legault, Drainville, Dery, Simon Jolin-Barrette - all those arrogant, pompous caq members got what was coming to them.

We are going to single out Pascale Dery for a moment. We sincerely hope that she does not wind up working for Federation or any other Jewish institution. She was a traitor to her own community and should not be rewarded in any way.

Back to last night. At long last people actually woke up, said enough! and did not give the separatist party the majority they so hoped for.

The PQ only got 28% of the electoral vote, the lowest percentage of any party in Canadian history.

Which means many people voted for them holding their noses, many people just didn't vote and over 70% do not want a referendum. In other words, Paul St-Pierre Plamondon (PSPP) has an unstable minority government.

We still have a problem to deal with and that is Quebec Solidaire, the other separatist party that got 9 seats. Fortunately for us, those two parties don't see eye to eye, even on almost anything so a quick referendum is not going to happen.

We were elated with the conservative party led by Eric Duhaime, who had hoped for 12 seats and won 20. While not enough to be the opposition, they will definitely have a voice in the next couple of crucial years.

All in all, we can breathe today. Nobody has to move and 'all we have to deal with' is Trump and not the double whammy of a potential referendum.

In the you-will-not-believe-this department, the mayor of Calgary Alberta, Jeromy Farkas has designated October “Canadian Islamic History Month” and then went one step further, told Calgary to celebrate it.
