Poilievre in a Positive Light...What the Heck is Going on in Toronto?...Another Justin Fantasy Bit the Dust...Dumb Blondes...

Blanche has some very astute readers and we appreciate their input.

In our last blog, we offered a few critiques of Pierre Poilievre. Readers reminded us of something that matters deeply and should not be glossed over: in the aftermath of October 7 and ever since, Pierre Poilievre has been one of the very few politicians to stand unequivocally with the Jewish people.

No hedging. No moral fog. No calculated silence. That kind of clarity is rare.

From October 7, Poilievre, who had no political obligation to speak out, has not wavered. We cannot say the same about any other federal party in Canada, where equivocation, silence, or outright moral failure has too often prevailed.

So yes, we still believe Pierre Poilievre could benefit from some tweaking. But leadership is not only about bettering oneself, which is an ongoing effort. It is about backbone.

On that front, he has been there when it counted. For that reason, we are firmly behind him and sincerely hope he becomes Canada’s next prime minister.

One final note: The ability to discern, with clarity, right from wrong is not situational. It permeates a person’s entire outlook on life. It informs judgment, character, and leadership.

And it is a quality a person either has or all the power in the world will never give them.

We listen to Toronto radio in the mornings. Although the host John Moore is a heavy liberal, he's a great interviewer and his show is pure politics. He, unlike the Montreal announcers, is able to hide, for the most part, his bias.

Imagine today when we heard about the very serious scandal in the Toronto police department. And when we say serious, there were hits, drug deals, stealing people's information using police computers, multiple counts of theft. The police were in bed with organized crime.

Right now there are 8 dudes publicly charged. You can google their names and ages online. How stupid were they to think they were not going to get caught? Now they have ruined their lives and the lives of those around them.

Here's the lead in the story: Seven Toronto police officers and a retired officer have been charged in a sprawling corruption and organized crime probe that police say links insiders to fentanyl and cocaine trafficking, extortion, multiple shootings — and an alleged conspiracy to commit murder.

Those police are seriously corrupt. "The officers unlawfully accessed confidential information that was then funneled to criminals, who carried out shootings and other violent offences."

Heads are going to roll for this. We hope it is Toronto's chief of police, Myron Demkiw who has not lifted a finger since October 7 to stop the Jew-hating protests, the mobs in Toronto malls and the 'praying' in the middle of street.

Along with him, mayor Olivia Chow should be taking a powder. She's in bed with Demkiw which is why hate crimes aka open antisemitism have increased in Toronto 211%.

Another one of Justin's fantasies bit the dust.

Today Carney announced he is going to repeal repeal the electric vehicle mandate and put in place new emissions standards.

That mandate had us all driving electric cars by 2035, one of Justin's more foolish ideas. Quietly, with little fanfare, Carney is slowly making Justin look like exactly what he was - an airhead with nothing between his ears.

Now if you purchase or lease a battery-electric or fuel cell electric vehicle, you will receive up to $5,000 and up to $2,500 for plug-in hybrids priced up to $50,000. Alas, this only applies to countries we have free trade agreements with.

That means the 49,000 ev's being produced in China do not qualify for the rebate. While you may think who is going to buy a chinese ev if there's no rebate think about this: Those cars are going to be considerably cheaper than any other ev's. So you won't need a rebate.

This new edict will also give Canada time to upgrade it's electric grids and put in more plugs for those cars. We already lose power every winter. Now imagine millions of cars drawing from the same fragile grid. A nightmare.

While on the subject of electric cars, we heard a very interesting and sobering statistic: If you are in, G-d forbid, a car accident and you are trapped in your electric car and the electrical system doesn't work, you are literally toast. Nobody can get you out because there are no door handles. They are flush with the car doors able to be activated only using the electric system. If that fails, you can figure out the rest.

To date, there have been a few death due to this issue, which is a big one. Our guess is that car door handles will be making a comeback and will be integrated into the new ev's. If not now, then in a year or two.

We, along with millions of other people, are watching the very bizarre story of the kidnapping of Savannah Guthrie's 84 year old mother Nancy.

In case you don't know who Savannah Guthrie is, here ya go: She is a main co-anchor of the NBC News morning show Today, a position she has held since July 2012. So everybody knows her.

Her mother lives in Arizona and it seems was abducted from her home in the very early hours of Sunday morning. She has a pacemaker and, as many other 84 year olds, other health issues requiring medication.

As of yet, there has been no credible ransom note, or at least that is what we are being told. Why this woman was chosen over the parents of many other well known celebrities is also a mystery.

Those who took this woman knew what they were doing as they walked away not only with Nancy Guthrie, but with her doorbell ring video. Today, Ms. Guthrie and her siblings made an appeal on national television to show that their mother is still alive without the use of Ai.

This is a really strange case and we hope that Nancy Guthrie is returned to her family alive and well.

A couple of weeks ago, there was a major power failure in CSL and NDG during the coldest days of the winter. It was absolutely freezing outside and people had no heat for days.

We know that Hydro Quebec runs ass-backwards. But one would think in this day and age, the city of borough of NDG has a way to properly communicate with their residents. In fact, they don't.

Residents got zero information from hydro and, to add insult to injury, received no information from their borough because, and we quote: we approached our limit in terms of ensuring each resident received the most up-to-date information.

In other words and pardon the pun - they were kept in the dark for a few days.

Too add to this mess, NDG did not have generators in any of its sports centers, nor do they have an elevator for someone in a wheelchair. We are guessing people went to the CSL community center. We know that the last NDG mayor was a total idiot and as is usual, has walked away from her old job with zero accountability. She knew about this aging hydro infrastructure the entire time she was mayor and let it slide.

Now get this one and we didn't make it up:

During the power failure, some in the CDN-NDG borough expressed surprise that Snowdon district councillor Sonny Moroz was acting as interim mayor of NDG. . Where was their mayor?

It seemed there were those who did not know that Stephanie Valenzuela, who was elected borough mayor on November 2, was pregnant throughout her campaign, and had given birth over the holidays. Her being on mat leave necessitated the designation of a substitute.

Nobody knew she was pregnant? Are people blind? This one is really for the books.

In a great back and forth for about 30 seconds, Conservative MP Vincent Ho ask our industry minister Melanie Joly: "Would you personally drive a Chinese-made EV?"

Joly responded by asking Ho if he would drive a chinese made ev. He responded that he's the one asking the questions making everyone around him start to laugh.

Literally, Mélanie Joly looked like a dumb blond. In the end she responded: "I'm willing to drive a great Canadian-made vehicle."

So the her boss's purchase of 49,000 chinese ev's will not be in her inventory. And this is what is running our country.

Good Shabbos

We'll talk...
