The State of Jews in Canada...Valerie Plante Lands a Dream Gig...The UnConventional John Fetterman...

As we stand on the eve of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, it behooves us to take stock not only of ourselves, but of what is happening around us. And in Canada, that means confronting the ugly, as yet unchecked reality of antisemitism.

We didn't have to look very far.

Today’s National Post was filled with articles on the subject, a disturbing snapshot of just how deeply antisemitism has embedded itself in Canadian life. That, in itself, should tell us something.

Canada is now being called out, publicly and internationally, for its abysmal failure to protect and support its Jewish citizens.

We read about a festival in, of all places, New Brunswick, where last year Jews who had an Israeli booth were intimidated by antisemites. Instead of stopping the idiots, nothing was done. The result? This year there will be no Jewish presence there. Shameful.

This particular festival's slogan starts with Celebrate Diversity. Clearly you can be diverse as long as you are not Jewish. That crosses the line of being different.

There was yet another article written by a non-Jew who called out Carney for his pathetic inaction getting to the root of who is behind all of the very well organized, very well advertised, very well attended antisemitic bullies in schools, on busy streets, around synagogues etc.

As we are on Trump's radar, that inaction prompted him to think about creating a special immigration policy for Jews seeking a safe place to live, ie the USA. We're guessing he will eliminate much of the red tape and as long as someone wants to go, he will let them in.

Carney saying there is no place for hate in our country is a load of crap. Empty words because he did absolutely nothing to get to the root of the problem.

Carney is a cold son-of-a-b.tch. As long as antisemitism doesn't touch him personally, he will do nothing about it. Same idea as the tariffs. Everyone else 'elbow's up but he remains untouched. And he doesn't care if Trump offers Jews a quick entry into the US.

Way to go Anthony Housefather, hanging onto Carney's coattails. Here's our message to you for the New Year...

As one of the few Jews sitting in Parliament, you carry a responsibility that goes far beyond party loyalty. At a time when Canadian Jews see that their government truly does not understand the fear, anger and isolation so many are feeling, you no longer have the luxury of echoing the party line.

There comes a point when loyalty to one’s community, one’s principles and one's soul far outweighs loyalty to a political leader. Get out of that cesspool.

We told you Valérie Plante would land a plum gig, well-paid, with zero accountability for her time in office.

Not only were we right, but the job she landed boggles the mind, given she and her administration practically destroyed Montreal’s downtown core.

This beauty landed a job where she will be looking at six cities around the world and how they are dealing with their various challenges. One has to wonder if the people who gave her this job have been to downtown Montreal in the past five years.

Her job enables her to visit Dakar, Porto, Kigali, Oslo and Buenos Aires. Nice eh? She gets to travel the world, no doubt business class, without spending a dime of her own money.

The best part of the article was how she hopes people realize they are part of the solution to the problems in their cities. Not one pleb in this city had any part of any solution for our downtown core because, get this...there was no solution.

We find Plante particularly infuriating, walking away as though she made a positive difference in Montreal when, in fact, she leaves behind a city that is dirtier, more chaotic, more difficult to navigate and increasingly hostile to the very people who work, shop and pay taxes here.

She exited Montreal unaccountable.

Believe it or not, Washington used to be a polite, normal place to work. The Democrats and Republicans shared one common thread: how to make the lives of Americans better. That was then. Now?

It's dog eat dog. Nobody cares about the little peeps. Politicians have blurred every line of decency and morality. What happened in the back room came right into the front room for all to see. There are a few exceptions and one is the very large, very unconventional Democrat John Fetterman.

He is an anomoly. Different from the other democrats in his party. Especially the nutballs, whose numbers are ever growing: AOC, Rashid Tlaib, Omar Ilan, Bernie Sanders, Mamdani, Abdul El-Sayed.

Watch out for this special chick: Claire Valdez. She's dangerous. She calls herself not just a socialist, but a proud democratic socialist. Dakfa. She is way left of left in her own democratic party, calling for a total end to all U.S. weapons sales and military aid to Israel because she believes Israel committed genocide in gaza.

It is to be noted that October 7 is not even on her radar.

Back Fetterman who strangely stays in the democrat party.

Last night was the Republican Midterm Convention. Fetterman (don't forget he's a democrat) dropped a bombshell by making a video shown at this convention, strongly endorsing his republican friend Dave McCormick as a great senator in Pennsylvania. He pledged to help both McCormick and Trump to keep Pennsylvania's manufacturing heritage in tact.

This pair is openly friendly causing the extremists in the democratic party to become apoplectic.

So while there is no shortage of nutballs out there, there are also good guys like Fetterman and McCormick who didn't forget how Washington used to work.

A final note: Tonight is 9/11.

Twenty-five years later, we remember a day that changed the world forever.

We remember the lives tragically taken way to early and the heroes who ran toward danger.

May their memories remain a blessing and may we never forget how precious and fragile our lives are.
