We Dodged a Bullet...

We're not sure what is more surprising: How amazing the Conservative party is doing in Quebec or how the CAQ had a nuclear bomb dropped on them. They have completely, totally imploded with 0 seats so far. That means they are not even leading in one seat.
The PQ is projected to have 58-60 seats with 64 needed for a majority. Two reasons for that: They had a very bad last week of campaigning and at least some of the 70% of Quebecers who do not want a referendum finally woke up. Good morning.
There's no doubt that the PQ leader, Paul St-Pierre Plamondon (aka PSPP) is going to try to pull a Carney and get 4 Quebec Solidaire people to cross the floor. We certainly hope nobody bites.
What is also huge is how many seats the Conservative party won.
There has not been a conservative member of parliament in Quebec since 1933. Now? At least 20 seats with their leader Eric Duhaime winning his seat and finally able to speak up for the 70% of Quebecers who want to stay in Canada.
It is also to be noted that one of his members that got elected is a sweet young 23 year old woman. That is really great news.
In the how sweet it is department, we are especially happy with these two CAQ losses: Bernard Drainville that arrogant pos and Pascal Dery who sat on Legault's lap for 8 years. What an idiot she was.
In the end, François Legault takes the blame for what happened to his party. He was an arrogant, egotistical fool who confused being elected to serve Quebecers with being their would-be-king.
Mark Carney must be happy with this result, even though it's very close to being a majority separatist party. He can now remain the same silent dictator he has been so far. He won't have to debate PSPP.
His next hold your breath moment comes on October 15 when Albertans vote whether or not to have a referendum on separating from the rest of Canada.
In the meantime we in Quebec dodged a bullet and for a now at least, can breathe a little easier.
We'll talk...
