What Exactly Was Reality Winner Thinking? Oh Wait, She Wasn’t Thinking.

Of all the brainwave statements we have heard in the past few days, our Mayor Coderre wins the prize. This weekend the grand prix is coming to Montreal. No we are not targets like London or Paris, nor are we in the rest of Europe where terrorists are able to move around from one country to another freely and cause destruction and horror whenever they so choose. And yet, the crowds that gather for the grand prix are very large and the locations are termed soft targets.

The organizer of the grand prix announced last week that he was upping the security. So what did our genius mayor say? Here it is, verbatim:

“We already have a protocol since the attack in October, I think, 2014. We always had a vigilance agenda and we didn’t have to raise the level of security, but, you know, everything is in order, we’re doing what we have to do”. Got that Blanche?

Everything is in order. Here’s a headline for Coderre: Even if everything is in order, tell a white lie and pretend that you are concerned about security. His arrogance that they have everything under control shows that he doesn’t quite grasp the world situation at hand.

Here’s a suggestion that perhaps can be passed onto him: At both entrances of heavily crowded streets like Crescent, put a few cement blocks. You know, just in case. We don’t have to spell it out but it would go a long way to deter anyone with any ideas.

During the election campaign in the United States, we were Trump supporters. There it is, out of the closet. Hillary was just too much of a slime ball to be trusted. She oozed arrogance and had and still has a nauseating do-you-know-who-I-am attitude.

Like probably every other Trump supporter, we thought that after he won and actually sat the oval office, he would understand the gravity of his job, as leader of the free world. As the rest of the world is learning, such does not seem to be the case. He just doesn’t get it.

Some people are now inferring that he is physically ill, perhaps early with onset dementia. Others are saying that he looks at the world like one gigantic reality show. No matter what it is, something is  wrong. What tipped the scales for Blanche? His tweets about the mayor of London after this weekend’s grotesque attacks.

Even if the mayor said things that were ridiculous, even if he was dead wrong about something, hours after innocent people were murdered in cold blood because they live in a western culture is not the time to go after him – publicly.

Here’s what Trump tweeted: At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is “no reason to be alarmed!” It was taken out of context. Here’s what Khan said: “Londoners will see an increased police presence today and over the course of the next few days. No reason to be alarmed. One of the things, the police, all of us need to do, is make sure we’re as safe as we possibly can be.”

Khan went on to stupidly say that London is one of “the safest global cities in the world, if not the safest global city in the world.” That is idiotic. London has a big red target on its back and everyone with half a brain knows that. Pretending that ain’t so is delusional.

Given that, if Trump had something to say to Khan, perhaps picking up a phone and talking to him would have served him better. Or, an even more mature way would have been to say nothing and just offer condolences.

Tweeting insulting accusations publicly about the mayor of London, after the city is reeling from a terrorist attack,  is not normal. And that’s what people are now seeing. These kinds of tweets are happening with increased frequency.

Up to now, Trump’s tweeting has caused diplomatic nightmares. People are wondering what will happen when he crosses a line and tweets about something or someone who is unhinged? If no one is able to control him on tweeting, we fear that no one can control him on anything and that Blanche, is a very scary thought.

Reality Winner. Doesn’t that sound like you’re waiting to see who the reality winner is? Well, that’s the name of the twenty-five year old federal contractor with high security clearance who leaked  top-secret NSA intelligence detailing Russia’s alleged interference in last year’s presidential election.

Blanche, can you believe that she sent the information by snail mail? Yup. Printed it right out of her computer, put it into an envelope, licked a stamp and bob’s your uncle, off it went.

The highly classified intelligence document describes how Russia managed to infiltrate America’s voting infrastructure using a spear-phishing email scheme that targeted local government officials and employees.

Let’s just say life as she knows it is over. For a very, very long time. They are going to make an example of her and basically toss her into jail and throw away the key for decades.

In case you were wondering what kind of person Vladimir Putin is, here’s a hint: When interviewed by Oliver Stone for a documentary he is doing on the Russian president, Putin he explained that he never has an off day as president because he’s a man.“I am not a woman, so I don’t have bad days.” Next.

The Six Day War, from June 5 – 10, 1967 was nothing short of a miracle in Israel. Lest you think otherwise, ponder this: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) consisted of 275,000 troops, compared to the 456,000 soldiers of the combined Iraqi, Syrian, Jordanian and Egyptian armies. The united Arab forces also had a decided edge with regards to weaponry and military equipment: they boasted more than double the amount of tanks, and close to four times the amount of combat aircraft.

On the first day of the war, Israeli airstrikes destroyed two-thirds of the Syrian Air Force, more than 300 Egyptian aircraft, and most of Royal Jordanian Air Force. By the third day Israel had captured many cities, the most notable one being East Jerusalem (including the Old City and the Temple Mount).

By the sixth day, they had captured the Golan Heights and Msada. A ceasefire went into effect at 6:30 PM that night.

Nasser threatened to drive the Jews into the ocean. Despite what appeared to be insurmountable odds, the tiny country of Israel defeated the mighty and heavily populated armies of the enemies that surrounded them.

Today also marks the 73rd anniversary (June 6, 1944) of the D-day landings, which saw 156,000 troops from the Allied countries, including the U.K. and the U.S., join forces to launch an audacious attack on the beaches of Normandy, France.

The consolidated attacked was originally scheduled for June 5 but was postponed due to bad weather. At least 10,000 soldiers were killed on that one day so that we could live in peace for decades.

Today there was another try at terrorism, this time in Paris. Seems an Algerian student, well kind of because he’s 40 years old, took a hammer and went looking to wreak havoc. Mercifully, he didn’t succeed. It appears that the nut cases are also being emboldened by the terrorists. Awful.

We’ll talk…
