A reader of Blanche who is au courant when it comes politics, kindly sent us the thread of a conversation he had with Anthony Housefather. It is very telling to put it mildly.
This is the part of what Anthony wrote and wrongly believes: As I have explained many times, people have a choice to fire me or rehire me. You vote for a person not a party.
In today's world, anyone with even the brain of a gnat can see - a vote for the person IS a vote for the party.
The person involved here sent Anthony's response to a retired professor who was vociferous in his response:
...It is basically dishonest understanding of voter decision-making.
A parliamentary vote is for both the candidate and the party. In my opinion, both he and the Liberal party have been overwhelmingly disappointing on several items - most importantly, Israel and Arab immigration. I don’t know of anyone that I’ve spoken to at my xxxx meetings that supports him anymore.
And then Anthony wrote this. Simply beyond words:
...So to conclude you are saying you will vote to fire me and end my political career. That is deeply personal and a rejection of me and all I have done for the community over the last 30 years.
Astonishingly, Anthony actually thinks that being an MP is a G-d given right. Here's a headline dude:
Contrary to what you think, nobody owes you anything. Especially when you chose to stay in bed with Justin who is very, very clearly no friend of any Jewish community in Canada and certainly not a friend of Israel.
You chose, consciously to side with Justin and by extension Joly and Freeland who are both intensely disliked especially by your community. Your Jewish community.
You chose to side with Justin and Joly who won't send arms to Israel to defend itself.
You chose to stay with Justin who won't watch one video of October 7.
You chose to stay with Justin who has yet to visit Israel since October 7, one of the only democratic world leaders not to do so.
Housefather - you deserve to be fired. You are a fool and backed the wrong horse.
There is no doubt that Kamala Harris won the debate on Tuesday night.
There is also no doubt that the two moderators were 100% behind Harris while waiting to pounce on Trump at every opportunity.
Moderators of a debate are supposed to be impartial - from their tone of voice to their body language, to their questions, to their followups.
From the instant the debate started, everyone could not only see but hear that David Muir and Linsey Davis were going to 'get' Trump. And they succeeded.
The best analogy on how skewed this debate was can be seen in this ficticious question but gets the point across perfectly:
“Mr. President, when did you stop beating your wife?” Trump would attempt to defend himself. Then, they would turn to Harris and say, “What do you think of him lying about beating his wife?” The perfect set-up to make Harris look good. And that's how this debate played out all night.
Yes, Trump said some ridiculous, off the wall things. And no, he didn't prepare at all for this debate completely underestimating Harris.
But...from the second the debate started the moderators did not moderate for a second.
Rather, they went on live television and fought openly for their candidate. And that is the other side of the story and not a pretty one at that.
The main east west roadway in Montreal will be closed from Friday night until Monday morning. When we say the main artery, we mean the Metropolitan, THE main east west pseudo highway that runs through Montreal.
Why is this happening? The city said it, we didn't: Shoddy construction between 2021 and 2022. That's 2 years ago peeps.
The ministry of transport 'discovered' that the contractor had used an incorrect asphalt mix that created the appearance of a wet surface, which impacted road safety.
Really? Now they discovered this? Where were they for the past, oh, 100 years?
This has been going on in quebec since we had cars and roads. Shoddy construction? Read bribery, using inferior materials, money in socks, bureaucrats taking their annual trip to Florida thanks to the little envelope of money they got for looking the other way.
One would think - alas that requires thinking - that this would stop. Not the case. We have seen the same roads closed year after year with the same work being redone again and again.
The difference this weekend is that this road is impossible to ignore and the work was so in-your-face inferior that the government had to fess up to the fact that from top to bottom the ministry of transport is one big corruption gaff. Pepsi and a May West anyone?
Our advice is stay home and enjoy the weather this weekend.
New York Police Department Commissioner Edward Caban resigned from his position on Thursday as the head of the world’s largest police department after his phone was seized by federal agents in a criminal investigation eight days ago. Oops.
Get this one dudes: The investigation, at least in part, centers around a nightclub security business that is owned by Caban’s twin brother, James Caban, and whether he used his brother to “fix potential problems for clubs and bars." That's a good one.
This is just the tip of the iceberg in New York city. Their very own mayor, Eric Adams is under criminal investigation over potential corruption stemming from actions involving the Turkish government. We're not done yet.
The FBI executed search warrants last week at the home of Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Philip Banks and a home shared by First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright and Schools Chancellor David Banks. Investigators seized phones belonging to Caban and Timothy Pearson, a senior adviser to the mayor.
Still not done.
Adam's former buildings commissioner, Eric Ulrich, faces bribery charges, and several donors to Adams’ campaign have been charged in a straw-donor scheme which is when a person illegally uses another person's money to make a political contribution in their own name.
New York looks like it's own little mafia club.
One more thing to illustrate what a cry baby Anthony Housefather is.
You may recall that last May, Amos Sochaczevski, one of the most generous philanthropists in Montreal's Jewish community, paid for the annual community Yom Hatzmaot event.
He is fiercely proud of Israel and a proud Jew who puts his money where his mouth is. He was incensed on how Justin was mistreating Israel - as he is still doing.
As such, and as Anthony could not find his kahoonas to leave Justin, Sochaczevski steadfastly refused to allow Anthony to speak.
Anthony had a massive temper tantrum at that time, crying to the media and stamping his feet. "I want to speak. I want to speak and he won't let me." Housefather then tried to publicly besmirch Sochaczevski's reputation.
It didn't go over well to put it mildly and Anthony looked exactly how he looks now - like a little baby crying because he couldn't get his way.
When we use the graphic above saying vote them out, we mean that exactly. It is becoming increasingly clear that Housefather is very much like Justin, which is why he couldn't leave him.
They both live by the do-you-know-who-I-am adage, which means what they want comes way, way before anything else.
While many may not personally know Neil Oberman who is running for the conservative party, we do. And we can tell you unequivocally that he is the polar opposite of do-you-know-who-I-am.
He's a man of action. He's a man with an actual job who is spending almost all of his time trying to make people understand exactly why we need a change.
Remember this when it comes time to vote.
Good Shabbos
We'll talk...
