CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL JUSTIN WHEN YOU’RE RIDING A DEAD HORSE – DISMOUNT.

When you’re riding a dead horse, dismount. Doesn’t that describe Justin to a tee? He’s so busy with himself that he doesn’t even know he’s on a dead horse.

ArrivCan – Justin’s dead horse – has zero do to with covid and everything to do with keeping track of Canadians and anyone who enters the country. Lest you think we are part of the conspiracy theory peeps, we are not, far from it. But we do believe that there is no medical reason to keep ArrivCan going. None. It’s a dead horse.

Lest you think we are kidding about Justin being dense, think again. He’s busy banning straws and plastic forks while fist fights are breaking out at Passport offices because people have to sleep outside the office overnight in the hope they will get into said office. Even after that, there is no guarantee that they will get their passport in time for their trip.

People adhered to covid restrictions for over two years. Now, when they can finally get away they are still trapped here because Justin and his cohorts are completely unable to run the government. Literally. If they worked for a private company they would be fired. Their arrogance and disdain for people who pay their salaries – the taxpayer – is disgusting. Take note: The Nexus offices in Canada are still not open.

Is it us, or does Colin Standish of the new Canadian Party of Quebec look like he just sucked a lemon? Seriously? And the cut-line for his party? Rights are rights are rights? Nobody could come up with something a bit more original? Clearly not everyone has charisma, but this dude looks like he needed an enema five days ago. With that punim – face  he will be attracting  like-minded cranky people.

Again you can thank Dominique Anglade, head of the liberal party for this dude and all the other geniuses who are going to split the vote. Zero leadership and fools in her party like Birnbaum have made her and her party total losers. And again we say, vote for the Conservative party led by Eric Duhaime. At the very least he can smile.

Lest you think Toronto Pearson Airport is the only one with massive delays and cancellations, think again. It’s everywhere, all over the world.

This past US long weekend, dubbed The ‘Armageddon travel weekend’ saw more than 20,000 flights canceled or delayed and this is expected to continue throughout the week. We seem to have entered the perfect travel storm – boom time for travel and serious limitations on staffing.

Another huge issue as a result of all the cancelled and delayed flights is lost luggage and under-staffing of baggage handlers. At some airports these handlers are not using the conveyer belts. They are simply throwing the bags out on the floor in huge piles. Pack lightly and take nothing you don’t care if you lose.

Seems that both Biden and his Vice President Kamala Harris cannot hold on to their staff. They are leaving as fast as they can find the door. One of the reasons appears to be staffers are worried about a bloodbath at the primary elections in November due to sky-high inflation, high gas prices and the war in Ukraine. While the latter is not of Biden’s doing, it doesn’t help his cause.

In Harris’s case, the word bullying has been heard more than once. Seems she runs a dysfunctional office, which is usually the case for the bullying – trying to push the blame onto others. Well, the ‘others’ are leaving and no longer tolerating her behavior. Not pretty.

So the United States instituted another long weekend – Juneteenth. What is that? Literally – June 19th. It marks the day when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas in on June 19, 1865 to take control of the state and ensure that all enslaved people be freed. The troops’ arrival came a full two and a half years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth honors the end to slavery in the United States and is considered the longest-running African American holiday.

Our question is this: Why is it a paid federal holiday? It is certainly a milestone in the lives of black people but why did it become a national holiday? Holocaust Memorial Day is very important in the lives of Jews but we mark the day on our own and move on. What about native Americans whose land was unceremoniously taken from them? Where’s their paid federal holiday?

Treading on very thin ice, we will only say that in the woke world we live in, it’s a lot safer to just quietly say ok to Juneteenth being a paid federal holiday than making a federal case out of it, if you get the drift.

Former Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens released a campaign video on Monday showing himself with a shotgun while he talked about hunting for RINOs, an acronym for “Republicans in name only.” It then showed Greitens with a group of people in tactical gear breaking down the door of a house, throwing a smoke bomb and entering the room.

Greitens clearly has issues. He had to resign as Governor of Missouri in June 2018 amid allegations of sexual assault and campaign finance impropriety. This gun video is not going to help his situation and frankly, the Republican Party should come out publicly and excommunicate him their party.

Montreal is trying very hard to build a rapid train system called the REM. It was supposed to be ready in stages: the first part the fall of 2022, the central section in the fall of 2023,  the west in the spring of 2024 and the airport section in late 2024. As of now, nothing will be remotely ready until 2024 and that’s only one part. This is going to go on, it appears, for at least a decade.

As well, the most recent estimate of $6.9 billion to build this train system is a ball-park figure.

We are living in Quebec where nothing gets done without graft, bribes, pretend and real issues. In this case they are able to hang a lot of their incompetence on covid and all that goes with it. Then there were unforeseen circumstances when building the Mount Royal tunnel. Never mind the train that was supposed to be elevated and construction on that part was stopped because it was going to be ugly. You can imagine how much that little ditty cost us.

Our question is where are the engineers? Where are the planners? Who is in charge? We know where Mayor Drapeau is, so he can’t be held responsible for this mess which you are paying for. Let’s just say the olympic stadium cost $1 billion in 1967. In today’s money, that would be $8 billion. This fast train? If it costs a cent less than $15 billion we’ll eat our hats.

We’ll talk…
