Blanche is still holding her breath and will do so until probably midnight on April 7, when the final election results will be known. Although things look very good for the Liberals right now, there are still 10 days to go till the election. Make no mistake, the PQ is about to pull out every stopper in every bathtub and sink in Quebec to upset the Liberal lead.
One of the things they are trying to do is tie Couillard with Charest in terms of donations and back room deals, anything that will make them look like the ‘old boys party’. Oy, we really don’t like to be nervous for such a long time. It either makes one eat or not eat. Of course Blanche is in the former group. Eating calms our nerves. Guess it doesn’t help the Liberals though.
The Malaysian government has completely botched the missing airplane saga from the beginning to this very moment. The most blatant and frankly disgusting moment came a couple of days ago when they announced that there was no hope of any survivors on that plane. They made this announcement not privately to the families of those on board, rather as a general news conference. Insensitive has taken on new meaning. They also made this announcement with not a shred of debris or concrete evidence. We think they tried, unsuccessfully to put an end to their very public nightmare. It didn’t work. We had to put this little ditty in about princess pauline and her beloved husband Claude Blanchet. (You realize that Blanche and Blanchet are not related. Hehehehehehe) The princess is refusing to disclose her latest income tax return or financial holdings. We wonder why. Oh, right. She called the election just as her beloved was going to be called to the Charbonneau commission about a secret deal between her husband and the Quebec construction union. Lest we digress.
Oh yes, did we also mention that the Marois’s or Blanchet’s or both are millionaires, having sold their castle recently on Ile Bizard for a for-fainting, drop-dead condo in Old Montreal. Let them eat cake says the princess as she pretends to be ‘one of the people’. She sure duped the students two years ago. Feh.
Remember Donald Rumsfeld? No? We’ll help you. He served as U.S. Defense Secretary under President George W. Bush. Well today Mr. Rumsfeld let lose, really let loose. He claimed that the relationship with Karzai and Afghanistan was absolutely first-rate in the Bush administration, but since Obama stepped in, “It has gone down hill like a toboggan.” Wait, it gets better.
He went on to say that the U.S. has status of forces agreements with more than a hundred countries. “A trained ape can get a status of forces agreement,” he said. “It does not take a genius. And we have so mismanaged that relationship.” He was of course, referring to Obama. Would you say the gloves have come off? Yikes.
Remember the song money can’t buy you love? Well, it can buy some things. Get this: Of the 1,645 members of the Forbes Billionaires list, 31 are under the age of 40. Can you guess some of them? Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg and WhatApp’s Jan Koum are amongst them. True, many of them started out with the family’s fortune, but they definitely didn’t sit around spending it. Are they happy? Who knows. Any comments?
Anyone out there still trying to disengage from videotron (remember Peladeau?) and move to Bell? Don’t say we didn’t help you. A very nice young woman by the name of Stephanie (514-386-7577) who works in a Bell store will help you bundle your TV, internet, cell and land line and lose those losers at videotron. Ya don’t have to buy anything. Just get your ducks in order so when you’re ready to change, it will be done with the least annoyance.
