Go Vote Today...Carney's Blunders...Mamdani...

ree

Today is early voting in the Montreal area municipal elections. In our little corner of the world, voting starts at noon and ends at 8:00 pm in the community center, 30 Lyncroft.

In case you didn't read Blanche last night (or even if you did), here's who we are strongly suggesting you vote for in Hampstead:

Jeremy Levi for mayor

For Councillors:

Jeffrey Budning

Allan Farkas

Harvey Shaffer

Larry Zoltak

We are not going to lower ourselves nor our readers by delving into the smear campaigns other candidates are using. The headline today is exactly how the five men above conduct themselves.

They are honest, care deeply about Hampstead, and have consistently acted with integrity and dedication to our town’s best interests.

But they can only become our councillors if you vote for them.

Mark Carney is turning out to be the opposite of what his handlers promised Canadians, who bought their bs hook, line, and sinker.

He is exactly what he looks like — a sly, smooth-talking bureaucrat who thinks he’s the smartest guy in every room.

But mostly, he is masquerading as our economic savior, which he is not.

If you think for a milli-second that Mark Carney did not know Ford was putting out an AI generated ad using Ronald Reagan to ditz tariffs, take the needle out of your arm. Carney not only knew, but sanctioned that ad. And it was like putting a fork in Trump's eye.

Seriously, what did they think would result from such an ad? If they wanted to get Trump riled up, then they succeeded beyond their wildest dreams. He upped the tariffs by another 10%.

If Carney doesn't get his act together soon, he's going to wind up in the same lane as Chrystia Freeland, who Trump despised and rightly so. She thought she was miss know-it-all with a d0-you-know-who-I-am attitude and that never works. No matter how smart you are.

It also appears Mark Carney is testing the waters for another election in hopes of securing a majority. He should tread carefully.

He has failed to deliver on his promises, and even Canadians who once gave him the benefit of the doubt are waking up... especially those who’ve lost their jobs due to the tariff war and have nothing to replace them with.

Replaying that Reagan ad during the world series - for two days in a row was a bad move and shows that Carney is not even close to being the prince of negotiators that people touted him to be.

Last week's jewel heist at the Louvre was a massive black eye for Paris, but when reading the details, something doesn't add up.

The robbers told the guards to leave the room? And the guards just walked away?

There was only one camera in the entire room? It appears so.

And the camera monitoring the exterior wall of the Louvre where they broke in was pointing away from the first-floor balcony that led to jewels?

What does make sense is this: The alleged thieves are known by police for past robberies and are believed to have conducted this high-profile heist on commission. Somebody or some country wanted those jewels and paid a handsome price to get them.

It has been floated that the crowns and other pieces will be broken up and sold separately. We think that some very rich arab or russian just wants to have those pieces in his 'collection' as a prize to show his buddies.

So now it appears that two of the robbers have been caught. Time will tell if they are indeed the thieves. In the meantime, France is sitting around with egg on their faces.

Then there's Mamdani. It appears he will win the mayoral race in New York city and is doing so without hiding for one second who he is and where his allegiance lies.

When speaking about 9/11 and 'islamophobia' he said the following: "I want to speak to the memory of my aunt, who stopped taking the subway after September 11th because she did not feel safe in her hijab."

His aunt didn't feel safe? Really now.

How about the 3,000 people who died in that attack? How about the men and women who wrote their social security numbers on their arms just before jumping out the 80th floor windows so their husbands and wives would know they died and could remarry?

How quickly people forget. In the end, as we are wont to say, G-d runs the world. And if Mamdani wins, so be it. He is supposed to be there. The sun will shine the next day.

Given that, we sincerely hope he doesn't win as it will be a very dark day for New York if he does.

We'll talk...
