The Housefather Gong Show We Attended...Brownstein, the Mayor of CSL Looses It...Pierre Poilievre Has A Soft Side...

It’s not often we get to share a first-person account — but today, we are doing just that. As such, we’re sending out this special edition.

And, with the English debate happening tomorrow, we’ll be releasing another Blanche Report later in the evening.

***

In our last blog, we mentioned an event with Anthony Housefather taking place in a nearby apartment building. We debated attending, but after one Blanche reader challenged us — reminding us that you can’t just be a keyboard warrior — we went.

Housefather arrived with his entourage: Mitchell Brownstein, the mayor of Côte Saint-Luc, a resident of the building, and a couple of hangers-on — all radiating barely contained hostility. It was clear many of the small crowd were Neil Oberman supporters. A few were still undecided.

Housefather was visibly rattled when we walked in and huddled with his team. After a brief discussion, they announced the event would no longer be a Q&A — it would now be a speech-only format.

The audience pushed back. The flyer clearly advertised a Q&A. Eventually, questions were allowed.

Let the Show Begin

Housefather opened by saying the election was “all about Trump.” He clearly forgot where he was. He was speaking to a room full of people who care deeply about Israel. Yes, Trump is an important issue, but as this was a mainly Jewish crowd, their focus was on Israel.

Things got more entertaining when he began bragging about how much his government had improved the healthcare system.

We’re not sure what planet he’s living on, but for anyone without an inside connection, or money to pay off people, navigating healthcare — unless it’s an emergency — is still a nightmare, just as it’s been for the last nine years.

At that point, a resident spoke up and asked what exactly the Liberals have done for healthcare over the last nine years. He pushed further, noting that Trump has been in power for only three months, while Canada’s healthcare system has been failing for nearly a decade.

That’s when none other than Mayor Brownstein lost it. He jumped up, shouting at the man to “shut up” repeatedly — even dropping an f-bomb.

The man’s wife was incensed at the mayor's behavior and snapped back hard. She reminded Brownstein that he is her mayor and had no right to speak to anyone like that, making the point that he didn’t live in the building and should leave immediately.

Brownstein motioned to Housefather to leave with him. Brownstein stormed out. Housefather stayed.

Avoiding the Real Issues

Housefather then tried desperately to avoid any mention of Israel or the Jewish vote. He stuck to safe talking points: Trump, tariffs, the notwithstanding clause, and his supposed accomplishments as MP.

When pressed on Israel and his party’s disgraceful stance, he dodged. Everyone in the room knew very well that as an MP, he hasn’t moved the needle one inch.

He doesn't see it that way. He foolishly praised himself for being the only one in his party to vote against certain anti-Israel measures — which only highlighted how irrelevant he actually is.

Let’s be clear: in Canada, you vote for the party, not the candidate.

Yes, your MP can help with local issues, but any MP could do that.

When it comes to major decisions — like the Liberals sending $100 million to Gaza, or your prime minister agreeing with the International Criminal Court that if Netanyahu would come to Canada he would be arrested — Housefather has zero influence.

And Then Came the Closer

To cap off the evening, Housefather — clearly unhappy with the turnout and the passion in the room — took his frustration out on Blanche.

He marched toward where we were sitting, yelling about how he’s a “good person” who “doesn’t go after people,” all while giving us a death stare.

Finally, someone in the audience shouted, “Are you going after Blanche?” That stopped him in his tracks.

Last night was a full-blown gong show from beginning to end. If you haven’t made up your mind yet, time is running out. Don’t kid yourself.

You’re not voting for a nice guy. You’re voting for a party — and this one has failed us repeatedly.

Commissions and symbolic votes have done nothing for Canadian Jews.

Housefather is a backbencher. He will remain a backbencher. He will never have a seat at the table and he doesn't make an difference.

You want change? You want to move the needle?

There’s only one way.Vote. Vote. Vote.

For Neil Oberman and the Conservative Party who will make a difference in your lives. For the better.

We came across an extraordinary article about Pierre Poilievre today. Few people know that his six-year-old daughter, Valentina, is autistic and non-verbal.

Neither he nor his wife have ever spoken publicly about it or used her condition to gain sympathy or political traction.

In fact, when he was considering a leadership bid in 2020, he chose not to run — because they had just received Valentina’s diagnosis and needed to focus on their family and the new reality they were facing.

That’s what decency looks like.

After ten years of Liberal mismanagement beyond anything we could have imagined, Poilievre deserves a real shot at leading this country.

We'll talk...

It boggles the mind how anyone after having the Liberals in charge for so long and seeing our country deteriorate, antisemitism is at it's highest in our city, the Hamas supporters demonstrate whenever they please wherever they like no one stops them, as a matter of fact they are encouraged, take a page out of Trumps lead, he is getting rid of terrorists who demonstrate in colleges and threaten the lives of Jewish students, and Jewish institutions no one does anything to stop them here they are free to do as they please, no one in the government stops them, I remember the times when Montreal was a beautiful peaceful city and if even one person would disturb the peace…
