Trump and Johnson – The Dynamic Duo

He’s baaack. We speak of Gerald Butts aka BFF and the brain of Justin Trudeau. But wait. Did he ever leave? We think not.

We are referring to Gerald Butts who left his position as Principal Secretary to Justin Trudeau on February 18, 2019 due to the SNC scandal. No one ever figured out why he fell on the sword. To protect his friend Justin? Jody Wilson Raybould stated publicly that she never felt threatened by him. It made no sense at the time and still doesn’t. So here’s our take: He never really left. Yes, he changed office locations from beside Trudeau’s office to either his home or another building, but he was and is the one Trudeau counts on to tell him what to do. Butts is the ultimate puppeteer pulling the strings. As one astute journalist said, ya can’t have a body without a brain. Trudeau is the body, Butts is the brain.

We are guessing that Butts will keep a very low profile during the election campaign as every time he will surface, so will the SNC scandal. Given that, he is the one responsible for Trudeau’s win in the last election and you can be pretty sure that all the other parties have their antennae fully raised.

Boris Johnson has become the new Prime Minister of Great Britain. Well almost. He has to go and ask the Queen for permission to try to form a government. He’s an interesting fellow, to put it mildly, starting with his name – Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson and there’s no shortage of articles about his gaffes, of which there are many.

When speaking about Hillary Clinton he said that she looked like a “sadistic nurse in a mental hospital.” No comment.

His relationship with Trump has been up and down and now it’s up. When Trump said in 2015 that some parts of London had become so radicalized that police fear for their lives, Johnson retorted that “the only reason I wouldn’t visit some parts of New York is the real risk of meeting Donald Trump.” They have since repaired their relationship and Trump congratulated Johnson on winning today.

Johnson has to deal with Brexit by October 31 of this year. He faces a deeply split parliament where there is no consensus on what Brexit should look like, and a negotiating partner in Brussels whose patience with British politics has worn thin. His stance: the U.K. must leave the EU by the October 31 deadline “do or die, come what may” even if that means leaving without a deal in place. Between Johnson aka Bojo and Trump, neither of whom have a filter, the media is going to have a great run.

Lest you think California is going off the deep end, you are correct, starting with Berkeley. They have almost gone completely over the cliff. If you think we are kidding, keep reading.

Berkeley has banned gendered language from city codes. Think about that for a second. ‘She’ and ‘he’ will be replaced by ‘they.’ The words “manpower” and “manhole” will become ‘workforce’ and ‘maintenance hole’. Gets better.

The City Council unanimously passed the measure to replace more than two dozen commonly used terms. There will be no more “craftsmen” in city code, only “craftspeople” or “artisans.” Male and female will be replaced by people of different genders. Our personal favourite is that you can no longer say pregnant woman. You have to say pregnant employee.

Do these people have nothing better to do with their time? Seriously.

Trump walked back the send her home chant very quickly as he saw, also very quickly, the wall with the writing. If he let that chant continue to other rallies, he was going to make martyrs out of those four women.

The gruesome foursome – Omar, Tlaib, Pressley and AOC have met their match in Trump. He’s a street-fighter not a politician and he’s now doubling down on them, putting Pelosi in an impossible situation.

This week he labelled the radical freshmen representatives a “very racist group of troublemakers’, slamming their “anti-Israel and anti-Semitic” rhetoric. Their comments, he said, are “pulling the once great Democrat Party far left.” And therein lie to two key words: far left.

Trump is going to keep this back and forth rhetoric going for as long as he can, baiting those women to up their inflammatory remarks until they finally say something that will be so outrageous that Pelosi will be forced to either expel them from the party or haul them over the coals publicly. She will have no choice if she wants to keep the democrats from being called a socialist party.

And speaking of socialists, Bernie Sander’s campaign workers are mighty ticked off with him. He’s running around the country telling everyone that the minimum wage should be raised to $15 per hour while his workers are being paid $13 per hour.

They finally had enough and threatened, publicly, to quit. It was the public part that ticked off Bernie. Really ticked him off. He started whining about other people knowing his dirty laundry. Aww, poor baby.

As long it doesn’t cost him money, Bernie’s fine with $15 an hour. The minute he had to go into his pocket and pay his workers, he sang a different tune.Ich.

We’ll talk…
