Blanche, one thing you have to say about Anthony Housefather. Well, maybe two things. The first is that he’s a good soldier and says anything Trudeau wants him to – like a puppet, or maybe drooling puppy – whether it makes sense or not. Or, and this could be worse – he said this of his own accord. If so he’s in a tie with Trudeau as being a dufus.
What he said today made no sense – that Wilson Raybould was demoted from Justice Minister to Veterans Affairs minister because she didn’t speak French. Really? Does Housefather think that we all fell off a boat? Oops. We can swim.
Here’s a question a five-year old would ask: Why was she made Justice Minister in the first place if she couldn’t speak French?
If they are trying to make Wilson Raybould look bad it’s not working. And watch out – they will keep dropping these nasty tidbits about her thinking it will make what they did disappear. D.u.m.b.
The other thing to say about Housefather is that he is spineless. He can’t stand up for what is right. Someone tried to influence the Justice Minister and that is dead wrong. That, coupled with the fact that you can be sure he’s not going to let go of that cushy job in Ottawa makes for someone who is now attached at the hip to a leader who, together with his ‘advisors’ is taking his party very quickly to the mother-of-all scandals. Our hope is that they drag this out as long as possible and statements like Housefather made today are perfect to do that.
And a final note about Housefather’s statement that Wilson Raybould didn’t speak French and that’s why she was demoted. In an interview, Melanie Joli was dancing and skating around his comment trying very hard not to make him look like a total idiot. Unfortunately, she failed. Read between the lines Blanche. Let’s bet Housefather is no longer chair of the Justice Committee by Monday morning.
As Margaret Thatcher is quoted as saying, “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other peoples’ money.”
It seems that Cortez and her cohorts have outsmarted themselves. Amazon was going to set up in Long Island City in New York giving them 25,000 jobs. That’s 25,000 people plus their families to go to restaurants, cleaners, rent apartments and shop in the area stores. Amazon pulled out of New York today because of lawmakers, notably Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who bitched about the project.
To say that Governor Andrew Cuomo is livid would be the understatement of the century. He’s beyond livid.
Instead of quietly cheering her ‘win’ to stop rich people from giving poorer people jobs and a chance to better themselves, here’s what Cortez tweeted today when she found out Amazon backed away from New York:
Today was the day a group of dedicated, everyday New Yorkers & their neighbors defeated Amazon’s corporate greed, its worker exploitation, and the power of the richest man in the world.
So this genius got her way and in the process 25,000 lost their jobs, and a tax revenue of more than $10 billion over the next 20 years is gone. This woman is single-handedly making sure that Trump gets re-elected in 2020.
In case you thought that socialist democrats are off the wall, you will now be certain.
Bernie Sanders, a Jew who has attacked Israel for years, called anti-Semitic democrat Ilhan Omar on Tuesday to offer his support, reportedly saying, “We will stand by our Muslim brothers and sisters.”
FYI – Sanders also supports Jeremy Corbyn, another virulent anti-Semite. To quote Alan Dershowitz: Those who tolerate anti-Semitism argue that it is a question of priorities but even so, history proves that Sanders has his priorities wrong. No decent person should ever, under any circumstances, campaign for an anti-Semite.” Unless of course, you are an anti-Semite yourself.
In the past few weeks, there have been numerous power failures in Montreal, specifically in the West End. Finally today, Hydro Quebec came out with a statement, saying that due to ‘wild weather’ – today was calm – and ‘old equipment’ – anyone’s guess, there are multiple and long power failures.
Here’s one scenario: Blanche, remember all those bribes in the construction industry and how all our roads are literally falling apart because inferior products were used? Or how the brand new hospital was flooding and had huge problems even before it opened? Don’t you wonder who got those contracts and how they got them? We have potholes the size of small cities. Bathrooms flooded in the new hospital from the get-go. So how do we know that the same bribes were not taken when the contracts for Hydro were given out?
We certainly can’t see the issue – as in the potholes. All we can do is suffer through one power failure after another with no one to talk to and answers that are absolutely idiotic. Quebec governments are dishonest, have been for multiple decades and we are reaping the ‘rewards’.
Good Shabbos We’ll talk…
