Lego Keeps Dropping the Ball. Someone Send Him a Dry Martini to Calm His Frayed Nerves.

Lego says one thing one day, totally flips his story and says the exact opposite a couple of days later. Now, he also seems to be blaming the English media in Quebec for making people fearful of the virus. Seriously dude? You’re invoking the old English-French as a smoke screen?

There was a legit poll conducted in the past few days and the results were interesting: 68 per cent of anglophones and 71 per cent of allophones are personally afraid of contracting the virus compared to 47 per cent of francophones.

When confronted with these numbers, Lego said, ““I’m trying to do my best in French and in English so I don’t see why the result is not the same for francophones and anglophones. I guess maybe The Gazette has a certain responsibility.” He went on to say that he didn’t agree with some reporting by the Gazette’s health reporter. No kidding.

Aaron Derfel, said Gazette reporter, is constantly outing Lego and his complete mishandling of the situation in senior homes. As of this writing, Lego is still not testing caregivers going into those death traps. He’s short over 11,000 workers in those facilities. We ask, who, with even the brain of a pea, would want to go and work in one of those places?

And today, Lego finally announced, after two weeks of chaos, that schools will in fact not reopen until September. How could schools have possibly  reopened when the numbers in this province of people contracting and dying from the coronavirus are still escalating.

Lego can’t hide from numbers. We have 23% of the population of Canada but 60% of the virus deaths which means 6 out of every 10 deaths in Canada occur in Quebec.

To be fair, as we have said before, Lego is reaping the rewards of decades of bribery and corruption in Quebec. Unfortunately, he doesn’t seem to be any better than his confreres. Falling very short on being able to fully comprehend the gravity of the situation, he’s making some very bad decisions, has clearly surrounded himself with people who are one chip short of a bag creating situations where is constantly  having to walk back wrong decisions.

Yesterday was the Jared Kushner Hillary Clinton show. He said, she said. On Tuesday, he refused on Tuesday to rule out postponing the presidential election in November. She made fun of him.

Well, last night Kushner walked back his comments. “I didn’t say that.” Buddy, you said it.

The election in November is again giving Americans a pathetic choice for president. Biden who’s 77 years old and s.l.o.w moving both physically and mentally, constantly making gaffes that are leading people to question his mental capacity or Trump who is simply too erratic. Why can’t they find someone normal in a country of over 300 million people to be president? One of the all-time big mysteries of life.

Sorry there’s so much Lego, but this one we could not resist.

There’s no doubt that coming out to his press conference wearing a mask – a face covering – Lego must have realized the dripping irony.  He’s the one who pushed Bill 21 banning religious symbols from being worn at work by certain government workers, including the hijab which was…a face covering. Ya think some little twit from the office de la langue Francais is going to ask you to take off your mask now? Let’s think about that for a milli of a millisecond. No. He may measure the word pasta on your menu, but that mask? It stays put.

And guess what? This mask business is going to be around for a very long time. Once it’s over, do you think those twits will be back going after nurses in hijabs aka face coverings –  the ones that right now Lego is hailing as heroes? Which by the way, they are with or without a hijab.

If he learns nothing else from this pandemic, let’s hope Lego figures out that he cannot make the lives of people wear hijabs or kippahs miserable or we will have the army here permanently. So yes, seeing Lego walk out in a mask is very sweet. We really hope he is smart enough to get the joke himself.

Remember Adam Schiff? That weasel behind the impeachment of Trump? He’s another one who is going to get his in spades. Our source for this is the Wall Street Journal, pretty reliable. It appears that newly released Congressional testimony shows that Adam Schiff spread falsehoods – with great glee – about Russia and Donald Trump for three years even as his own committee gathered contrary evidence.

Most of the transcripts were ready for release long ago, but Mr. Schiff oddly kept refusing to release them after he became chairman in 2019. He only released them last week when the White House threatened to do it first.

In July 2017, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper told Mr. Schiff and his colleagues: “I never saw any direct empirical evidence that the Trump campaign or someone in it was plotting/conspiring with the Russians to meddle with the election.”

Adam Schiff is still making it up. Last week he said the transcripts contain “evidence of the Trump campaign’s efforts to invite, make use of, and cover up Russia’s help in the 2016 presidential election.”

The question is, when will the media  stop playing games and looking foolish by putting him on the air? Mr. Schiff is a powerful figure with access to secrets that the rest of us don’t have and can’t check. He misled the country repeatedly on an issue that consumed American politics.

Trump gets skewered daily for saying things that are, shall we delicately say, misconstrued. Adam Schiff is going to get away with lying outright? We smell a rat.

It appears that ours is not the only government to have dropped the ball during the worst part of the virus. It seems that in NY, people still recovering from the coronavirus were being sent, ready for this – to senior homes to get better. You can guess the next step. Many seniors in the nursing home got it and died. Read this next part and weep:

Ron Kim, a Democratic member of the state Assembly whose Queens district has seen many nursing-home deaths. “The fact we maintained and pushed Covid-positive patients into facilities that were not equipped to handle them, it was a fatal error.”

We are not trying to start a panic with this next story, but it’s something that should be written.

A hospital in the epicenter of Italy’s coronavirus outbreak has seen a 30-fold increase of children with severe inflammatory symptoms most often associated with Kawasaki-like disease.

Why is this important to know? In the last five years, that hospital treated a total of 19 patients for those symptoms. From February 18 thru April 20, they admitted 10 children ages 5 to 7 years old with Kawaski. Eight of the children who were admitted to the hospital since February tested positive for COVID-19 antibodies.

There have been at least 50 cases of the inflammatory symptoms throughout Europe, including in Switzerland, France, Britain and Spain. New York has reported 102 cases and three deaths as of Wednesday. Be careful where you send your kids.

Good Shabbos We’ll talk…
