If you are interested in doing a research paper on one of the most dysfunctional governments around, look no further than Montreal. Erstwhile mayor Valerie Plante - who despises cars with every bone in her body thoroughly dropped the ball to put it mildly.

In an attempt to rid the city of cars, she and her band of inept cohorts decided that they were going to increase the hours of parking payments from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm to 9:00 am - 11:00 pm - without telling store, theatre, bar or restaurant owners.

So, if you are at a late movie or a hockey game that went into overtime and you don't have the parking app, well buddy, out you go into the cold night to walk four blocks in the sleet and wind to pay the meter. Exactly how many people are going to do that? We'll tell you. No one.

It appears that 'somebody' in her administration must have returned from their very long camping trip looking for indigenous frogs and realized that these foolish measures would be the final death knell for downtown Montreal.

That same 'somebody' in Plante's administration walked back everything and said they needed to review what they did. Really?

Madame Plante and her geniuses gave everybody the middle finger then realized what they did and walked it back. We can't make this stuff up.

Hundreds of teenagers flooded into downtown Chicago on Saturday night, smashing car windows, trying to get into Millennium Park. A woman's car was smashed by people jumping on the windshield and her husband was beaten as he sat in the driver's seat.

Chicago's mayor said parents need to instill proper values in their children. Ya think?

"Parents and guardians must know where their children are and be responsible for their actions. Instilling the important values of respect for people and property must begin at home," she said.

Well said, but as there were hundreds and hundreds of teens taking part in this riot, something is amiss in America, parental supervision seems to be null and void.

There's more. A mob of California teens broke into a gas station convenience store and stole what police say were thousands of dollars of products.

The 'incident' happened early Sunday morning after a large group of people blocked an intersection as part of a street takeover, with video footage showing cars drifting in circles and screeching around 2:30 a.m.

Deputies at the police station were responding to incidents throughout the night, but police said that since they are "currently limited with their staffed personnel and they couldn't intervene with the giant takeover groups for safety concerns. They said they were outnumbered.

Defund the police at your service. They should have sent in the social workers to 'talk' to these teens. The 'woke' inspired geniuses are now getting exactly what they deserve. Unfortunately, so are innocent people who knew this would happen.

Like we said in our last blog, Justin aka Canada's prime minister, has the uncanny ability to go from one fiasco/scandal to another with only enough time to buy a new pair of mickey mouse socks.

He just managed to get that slimy weasel Jagmeet Singh to vote with him to block an inquiry into the Trudeau Foundation where they took money from China. Next scandal coming right up.

Justin and his family spent the holiday season at a luxurious estate in Jamaica belonging to the wealthy Green family that made a large donation two years ago to the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation. The cost of the vacation was around $160,000.

The PMO did not want to say if Prime Minister Trudeau paid for his accommodation or other expenses out of pocket during this trip, which took place from Dec. 26, 2022 to January 4 of this year.

One minute Blanche. That's a 10 day vacation at a cost of $16,000 per day. Are you kidding?

Justin claimed he cleared this with the ethics commissioner, with one teeny, weeny little omission. He never told the Office of the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner that the Green family is a donor to the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation when the trip was evaluated. How convenient.

Now he's mired in yet another scandal.

Tonight there may be a strike of all federal workers asking for a 9% increase in salary. We are not happy about this. However...

Looking at Justin's self-indulgent spending of other people's money is disgusting. He's telling people not to take a raise when he and his cohorts just gave themselves one? And he spends $6000 USD a night on a hotel room and then $16,000 a day for a vacation?

Would you say there seems to be a rather large discrepancy with Justin's self-indulgent behavior and the rest of us?

Fox News has settled Dominion Voting Systems’ $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against Fox News averting a lengthy, expensive and certain to be embarrassing trial. Fox is giving Dominion $787 million. Woah there. That's a lotta money Blanche.

Fox appears to have walked back the tone of their on-air claims that the 2020 election was stolen from incumbent Donald Trump. Too little too late.

“We acknowledge the Court’s rulings finding certain claims about Dominion to be false. This settlement reflects Fox’s continued commitment to the highest journalistic standards."

The case had led to the release of troves of private messages and testimony from top Fox News figures including Fox Corp. Chairman Rupert Murdoch and opinion host Tucker Carlson.

Can someone please tell Fox, CNN, MSNBC and all other news outlets that it's high time they started reporting the news rather than making it up to get higher viewer shares?

Do not fly Southwest Airlines as every one or two months they seem to be having a major meltdown.

This morning they temporarily paused service over an unspecified internal technical issue, resulting in delays for nearly half of its flights. The agency said that the temporary disruption was caused by a “technical issue with one of their internal systems.”

That's like our endless power failures here caused by 'equipment failure'. Hydro Quebec and Southwest Airline meltdowns are caused by companies that are not upgrading their systems properly.

While they did finally resume service, roughly 1,800 of their flights, equivalent to 43% of their total departures were delayed. Nasty and aggravating. Not worth the money you think you are saving.

We'll talk...
