Was it Or Wasn't It?...Unaccountable WestJet...Canada Has Abandoned It's Jewish Communities...

The question still remains whether or not the firebombing of Noam, the beloved kosher restaurant in Montreal, was an act of antisemitism or something else.

One thing is certain. After watching the video of the person who set the fire, he knew exactly what he was doing. The accelerant was placed perfectly so that the instant it was lit, the fire literally exploded, totally engulfing the restaurant in less than a minute.

It was a hit job, but by who? Someone with a grudge or yet another blatant, open antisemitic attack?

We sincerely hope the police are sophisticated enough to find the person who a) started the fire and b) who hired him. We highly doubt the person in the video was the only one involved.

In the meantime, the reality on the ground is that Montrealers are starting to live without their fantastic restaurant.

There could be a light at the end of the tunnel as there is a kosher dairy restaurant sitting empty. Perhaps the owners of Noam can move in there temporarily. It's going to be a long time before they can re-opeon in their current location.

Aside from the actual construction, wading through the insurance claim is a daunting task. Frankly, we hope they opt for a temporary location. For sure they will double their reservations as people who never stepped foot in the place will now support them.

Time will tell.

Can someone please explain why the Canadian airline WestJet went on strike for one day? Exactly how many people, who, in good faith paid for their flights, got completely shafted? Thousands and still counting.

The company didn't know on Saturday night that they were close to a solution? They certainly did but it appears no one was authorized to say wait a minute - our customers are going to be seriously inconvenienced and maybe we should wait a day or two to ground all our planes.

Apparently, nobody is home at WestJet. And if someone is, they certainly have no clout.

Stopping the strike? That would have required foresight, leadership, and accountability.

Instead, the public gets stranded, plans get wrecked, and WestJet carries on as though it's just another Tuesday.

Disgusting. Just disgusting.

Call us old-fashioned. Call us traditional. Call us normal.

Aryna Sabalenka, the world's No. 1 in women's tennis, said this week that women's sports should remain fair and female, and that athletes should undergo a one-time sex verification test. Really?

The fact that this even has to be discussed tells you how absurd things have become.

Once the door was opened to biological males competing in women's sports, questions like this became inevitable. What was once obvious, what was once normal, now apparently requires a policy.

Sabalenka believes, and rightly so, that it is not fair for women to compete against biological men who mit-a-mul - all of a sudden, decided to become a woman.

Can we talk?

This should be a non-story. It is a Seinfeld episode. It is a nothing burger dressed up as breaking news. Alas, the world has lost its mind and as such now has to have a test to see if what looks like a female playing professional tennis truly is a female.

How pathetic is that?

If someone wants to transition from male to female be our guest. It's a free world. But don't come back two years later and try to play against women in any sport. That's a line that will no longer be crossed.

If you as a male have become a female you have revoked your right to play against those born as women. You have certainly forfeited any privilege of going into a women's locker room.

Canada made it to the Wall Street Journal and not for Mark Carney's ostensibly great business sense. Nope. We made it to the WSJ as per their title: Canada Has an Antisemitism Problem and It's Leaders Don't Know How to Confront It.

What prompted this latest article was the firebombing of the kosher restaurant Noam this past Friday night.

This was a hit, done by professionals. They knew what they were doing causing the restaurant to be engulfed in flames within 30 seconds. It is highly probable that this was yet another case of antisemitism. And why do we say that?

The title of the WSJ article says it correctly: Canada's leaders don't know how to confront it. And because of that, antisemitism in Canada is running rampant.

Empty platitudes are doing less than nothing to either stop people from going after Jews. In fact, they are fomenting, encouraging and making sure the story-line keeps getting written. If nothing happens to you when you shoot at a bakery or school or synagogue except for a slap on the wrist then hey, let's up the ante.

Here's a headline: None of the antisemitic attacks in Canada are helping anyone in gaza. Shrieking free palestine is not getting those muslims their own country. Yelling like morons from the river to the sea is not going to make Israel disappear. And for sure, 100% sure, attacking Jews in Canada is not going to move the needle a dot.

Anti-Zionism means the exact same thing as being an antisemite. It means you think you are entitled to harass Jews in Canada. We cannot help but repeat if black people or, get this one, first nations people were being openly targeted on a daily basis do you think Carney, Chow and their ilk would be silent?

Not for a second.

As per the article:

Amir Azar, a Toronto man whose prosecution is proceeding within Ontario’s criminal-justice system, was nevertheless released on bail despite facing 29 charges arising from an alleged campaign that included setting fires at four synagogues, damaging a fifth, threatening a Jewish community center and extensively damaging a Jewish-owned café.

Until people like Azar are either deported or sent to jail and kept there until a trial, nothing is going to change. He has more rights than the Jews being targeted. Chew on that for a while.

It would not be surprising if Donald Trump weighs in, if he hasn't already, on Canada's handling of antisemitism.

If that happens, it could become yet another point of tension in the already difficult tariff negotiations that Mark Carney continues to discuss largely behind closed doors.

Which raises a simple question: How are the tariff talks actually going? Canadians are being kept in the dark like little mushrooms. Are negotiations making progress? Are they stalled? What concessions are on the table?

Blind trust is not a negotiating strategy. When decisions with major economic consequences are being made, Canadians deserve more transparency than, "Trust us."

Donald Trump’s envoy for fighting antisemitism Rabbi Yehuda Kaploun, is urging Canada to revoke visas and expand terrorism listings to curb the rise of anti-Jewish hatred.

"My message is to Canada, you need to do better." We have to hear this from Washington?

“The levels of hate in Canada are unbelievably high, and unfortunately with government inaction, I’m arriving here a day after our consulate was attacked with gunfire, (two) Jewish stores were attacked in Toronto and yet the response seems to be muted,” Kaploun said.

Canada looks like a haven for terrorists, which in fact it is becoming thanks in large part to Justin allowing unvetted immigrants by the thousands into our country.

Now we are stuck with Carney who doesn't care for a millisecond what Kaploun says.

Maybe this will wake our prime minister up:

Kaploun said Canada should emulate the U.S. by using terrorism listings and visa revocations to bar groups and individuals, including Iranian proxies, who are seeking “to sow discord.” He also argued that Ottawa should punish universities that make Jewish students feel unsafe.

Perhaps Carney will be embarassed enough to finally take some action. If he doesn't, even if we get hurt financially, we hope Trump levies tons more taxes on Canada for supporting terrorists. He should go after the supply management system with both guns blazing.
