New Year's Day Musings...

We just listened to Bernie Sanders praise and drool over New York's Mayor Zohran Mamdani, an avowed socialist and communist.
Sander's speech reminded us of Obama's inauguration speech: We have anointed ourselves Robin Hood. We are giving the masses, our comrades, who we deem the downtrodden a dream come true: Free bus rides. Free rent. Free food. Free education. Free medical care.
Mamdani said this under the guise of hope. He forgot one thing. Who is paying for all of this?
People like Mamdani believe that if you made money, if you are successful, you are the enemy. Even if you made it yourself. Even if you spent 40 years building up your business. You will give your money to those who don't work. It is your obligation and as a communist mayor Mamdani will do his utmost to make sure this happens.
Ah, but here's the great dichotomy:
Mamdani was never poor. He grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth. He is using the word for his own gain. As did Sanders who is a millionaire many times over. As did Obama made more money as president than he can ever count. They are all frauds. They are fooling the people who they are telling them they are saving.
Even worse, Obama made his black bros even more dependent on government handouts than they ever were. That doesn't strengthen a person, that makes sure they have low self-esteem and look for handouts forever. That is exactly what Mamdani is doing. Teaching people to take, take, take, take.
Sanders swore in Mamdani on a qaran and all we could think of is what is America coming to? Where are they going and more importantly, how are they getting there?
Good luck New York.

If anyone listens to iHeart radio, you know that before your station starts playing there is an annoying 15-20 second ad. In our case, because we live in quebec it is usually in French.
Imagine our surprise when today it was in Chinese. Same white people, same ad, but the entire thing was geared to an Asian listener. We have to wonder what we clicked on to engage this language, and... we're not sure if this is innocuous or very scary.
Toronto’s idiots were out in force, determined to derail New Year’s celebrations and they probably managed to keep normal people away.
The real failure, though, rests with city leadership.
When public spaces don’t feel safe, when events can be hijacked so easily, that is the kiss of death for the public events and the erosion of law and order. We are dealing with leaders who refuse to enforce boundaries or protect their citizens’ right to enjoy their own city.
The time those shrieking stupidity have to spend annoying other people is astonishing. Meanwhile, those actually contributing to society have jobs, responsibilities, and real lives. They don’t have the luxury of protesting on a Tuesday at 11 a.m. because, wait for it, they’re working.

In quebec, we’re dealing with a similar problem: a small, group of loudmouths who are more focused on creating chaos than contributing anything to society, adding even more economic strain to a province that’s already stretched way past its limit due to a jawdroppingly incompetent government.
The parti quebecois's one and only message, which they are screaming from every rooftop in the province, is that if elected the first thing they will do is hold a referendum to separate from Canada. 33% want that. Which means, 67% do not.
The PQ are a one trick pony with one fantasy: Quebec as its own country with its own currency. The problem is, their impossible fantasy is dragging the whole province down with them.
Who exactly is going to invest here with that kind of uncertainty hanging over our heads like a black cloud? The pq are a dead weight on an economy that barely has momentum. We are guessing they forgot about the billions of dollars they get in transfer payments from Ottawa.
You may be asking why we are giving them space here. Because right now, as things stand, they have a very good chance to get elected.
The Liberal Party has managed to spectacularly implode. Even the gnat-brained people living in the 'regions' aka outside Montreal, the ones he thought he could take for granted, are done. We will also remind those geniuses, including Legault because he seems to have forgotten, that Montreal is where the money to pay his large army of bureaucrats comes from.
So what is left? If you said the PQ who wants to separate you would be correct.
Best we all start praying that at the very least the liberal party find a half-normal leader, at best, someone people actually know and respect.
Good Shabbos
We'll talk...
