The Blanche Report

The Blanche Report rarely wades into local political affairs. Frankly, nobody cares. Till now.
Our small community of roughly 8,000 residents operates without commercial tax revenue, meaning every sidewalk, snowplow, and streetlight is paid for by us, the people who live here.
And while we’re not exactly a sleepy town, life here mercifully tends to be calm and civil. Until now.
What prompted this piece were three so-called information sheets tossed into our mail slot.
We’d heard whispers, but reading them for ourselves was a sobering and frankly sad, confirmation of just how foolishly low people can take the discourse.
We’re not going to dissect the content for two reasons: it would give validation to what was written and the opening line told us everything we needed to know:
Every member of the current council has violated Hampstead’s code of ethics repeatedly, by putting their interests ahead of ours.”
That one sentence disqualified everything in those three pages. Every councillor is a thief, dishonest and doesn't care about anyone living in the town? They are all on council to better their own bottom line? Come on.
Take Councillor Harvey Shaffer. He was Hampstead’s stalwart security councillor for decades, a respected lawyer known for his integrity and fairness. Now, suddenly, he and his colleagues are accused of “stealing” from the very residents they’ve served for years? Believe us when we say Mr. Shaffer doesn't need to dip into the Town's money.
Mr. Bill Steinberg has decided to run a smear campaign. And negative campaigning never works and is certainly not the fast track to leadership.
So here’s a small piece of advice for Mr. Steinberg: Step away from this race before you destroy every good thing you ever did for Hampstead. It is profoundly sad that you believe the path to public service is paved with toxic slander. It is not.
Our current mayor Jeremy Levi is running for a second term.
He is open, honest and accessible. If anyone has any issues with what he is doing, or how he is running the town, or what he is doing with our tax revenue, call him. If you want him to respond to any of the foolish accusations on those three information sheets, he will gladly do so.
A final note: Mr. Steinberg, integrity isn’t something you get back once you’ve thrown it away. When it's gone, it's gone forever.

We hope nobody is surprised that hamas is not honoring the ceasefire. And that Israel is responding with the appropriate force.
Now that the living hostages are no longer in gaza, Israel has much more freedom to go after hamas. There's a big but here.
It's not our sons and daughters in gaza. It's Israel's.
No other country, no matter how many peace deals are signed, are going to put boots on the ground in a place like gaza. In the end, the world is again relying on Israel to finish the job.
Our hope is that idiots like Carney and Starmer can keep their big mouths shut long enough for Israel to make a big dent in the hamas infrastructure. Truthfully, those two plus Macron are completely useless when it comes to understanding what is really happening in the middle east.
You did notice how they were silent as hamas murdered their own people who they thought collaborated with Israel. And they didn't just murder them. They brought them into the middle of busy intersections, and shot them in cold blood for all to see.
We're not sure how much more those who signed that gaza should be it's own country need to see to understand that the arabs living there are wild tribal animals. Their family feuds go back generations and trying to organize them into something resembling a normal government is a total waste of time.

And speaking of Carney, here's what we heard from two different sources: The budget being brought down at the beginning of November is a ruse to call a quick election.
Carney wants a majority government and he will present a budget that the other parties can never support.
Ergo, the government will fall and an election will be called.
We hope that as Pierre Poilievre got rid of his former campaign manager, who helped blow the last election, that he chose someone who knows what he or she is doing.
If Carney gets in with a majority we are all toast. Life as you know it Canada will drastically change - and not for the better. It's already starting to change.
Amira Elghawaby, our Special Representative on Combating Islamophobia, used her taxpayer-funded office to advocate for pro-Palestinian activism among public servants and to criticize Jewish organizations, including B’nai Brith.
She encouraged Muslim federal employees to “speak out on Palestinian issues” and privately corresponded with officials to raise complaints about alleged “anti-Palestinian racism.”
She was appointed by Justin and is now working for Carney. Nobody is stopping her. She is part of the government. You are paying her salary of close to $192,000.
Her title is to deal with islamophobia. Know that title also goes with she is an antisemite. And also know that Carney has her back or she would have been long gone.
This is what we mean by electing Poilievre. If we get a chance to get Carney out, we better take it or we're going to get a lot more openly antisemitic muslims in parliament, sanctioned by the government.
And one more thing. If there is an election in the offing, we certainly hope Elections Canada can get their act together. You know, like making sure they fixed their website so it works on election night.

Prince Andrew is now part of the royal family in name only.
Last week he lost his Duke of York title, is banned from the Christmas dinner, cannot attend William's coronation (when Chuck pops off), and no longer has security.
It appears he is a serial liar and kept on lying long after he said he would not.
He got involved not only with Epstein, but with very undesirable Chinese people. He's also not the brightest chip in the box as he kept denying everything, but the King and William's detectives found all his emails, dated way past the time he said he had no contact with Epstein.
His devoted wife Sara lost her Duchess title and is now just Sarah Ferguson. Interesting they live in the same house, although they are divorced. It does have about 30 bedrooms so we're guessing they don't bump into each other very often. Well, maybe in the kitchen for a coffee in the morning.
We feel badly for his two daughters who really are collateral damage in all of this. They are still invited to family functions but who knows if they will go and leave their father home alone.
How the mighty (stupidly) fall.
We'll talk...
