We will start with our prime minister Mark Carney.
Did anyone find it odd that Mr. Carney decided 48 hours before the shoe from Trump was going to drop vis-a-vis the tariffs to make a statement that Canada will recognize a palestinian state via the infamous two-state solution?
This war has been going on for almost 2 years. He couldn't have waited two more days for this announcement?
In fact, we believe that he used Israel, the hostages and October 7 to save his own skin.
Carney got elected because Trump was threatening Canada with crazy tariffs. He and his handlers sold Canadians the bill of goods that he was the only one capable of negotiating with Trump. Poilievre was too much of a hothead. Too immature. Not smart enough. Not enough experience. Not true. Poilievre was never given a chance.
Well, Carney failed. And failed miserably. He did not get anywhere with Trump and he knew it. So what did he do? Changed the channel.
Enter his 'noble' statement that gazans aka hamas need their own state called palestine. He knew it would enrage people, he knew France and Britain would laud him. And he knew Canadians would put the August 1 Trump deadline on the back burner. What he didn't bank on was Trump's reaction.
Trump tied the tariffs in with the two-state solution which, thank G-d, he knows is a crock.
Hamas and all other terrorist groups will accept nothing, including a tw0-state solution until Israel is annihilated.
So now Carney and his foolish cohorts look like the emperor with no clothes.

Now for Anthony Housefather.
We, and it appears a good percentage of Montreal's Jewish community are done with him. And as he's not in caucus, so Carney may give him the time of day but that's it. He's certainly not listening to a word Housefather is saying.
Alas, Anthony lives in his own little bubble. He 'broadly disagrees' with Mr. Carney's move and believes that the prime mister heard his concerns, citing the imposition of conditions on Canada's recognition.
And therefore? Most thinking Jews disagree with Mr. Carney and get the same attention as he did. None.
Anthony Housefather has become a thorn in the side of the entire Jewish community in Canada. He is a self-preserving politician doing more harm than any good he ever thought he did - like building a swimming pool in Cote St. Luc. That is his claim to fame. But we digress.
To Mark Carney, Anthony Housefather is background noise. Mildly annoying, easily ignored, and completely expendable.
So now Housefather is nowhere. He is exiled to the back of the backbenchers in Ottawa, irrelevant in Parliament and increasingly being disowned by his own community.
Even if he left the liberal party tomorrow morning it's too late. He has become a complete non-factor everywhere. A hill to die on? Spare us the drivel.

UPDATE ON THE 'TWO-STATE SOLUTION FOR MARK CARNEY AND ANTHONY HOUSEFATHER:
As per the BBC: Hamas official Ghazi Hamad just said that hamas could not yield its right to "resistance and its weapons" unless an "independent, fully sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital" was established.
Read between the lines. Israel must be annihilated. No one can negotiate with terrorists. It appears that the only world leader who gets this is Donald Trump.

We had occasion to be on Greene Avenue this week. If you don't live in Montreal, it's a tony shopping area located in the heart of Westmount.
As per Montreal aka the orange cone city, there is major roadwork being done on Greene and one cannot exit the street via St. Catherine.
We frequent one specific store which is located between de Maisonneuve and St. Catherine. We went in and asked the owner if business is being affected by the construction. Here's her reply:
"On the contrary. We are very happy that there's construction. Last week we had 'protesters' in front of our store waving palestinian flags and shouting at people. Once the street was closed they all left because they were getting no attention."
She then told us that she called the police multiple times and was told that Madame Valerie Plante signed 'something' that allowed the protesters to do what they were doing and until she un-signs it, the police can do nothing but stand around and watch.
As we said in a previous blog, Madame Plante has disappeared from Montreal.

And now a shoutout to the people of Toronto.
Your illustrious mayor Olivia Chow, ever the paragon of dignity, was spotted at the Caribbean festival, gyrating like a monkey from The Jungle Book.
This, of course, is the same Olivia Chow who couldn’t be bothered to show her face for five minutes at Israel Day.
Too busy?
Forgot?
Nope.
She just doesn’t give a damn.
But suddenly she has all the time in the world to obsess over her outfit for this parade.
Nice to know where Jewish Toronto ranks on her priority list. She doesn't give a damn.
We'll talk...
