Yesterday, Airbnb announced that it would not allow Jewish settlements to be listed in Judea and Samaria. Here is their statement:
We concluded that we should remove listings in Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank that are at the core of the dispute between Israelis and Palestinians.
This is unadulterated open anti-Semitism, propagated no less than by a huge corporation. Not only did Airbnb specifically target “Israeli settlements,” they announced that they will only disallow listings in Israeli settlements when those listings are owned by Jews. In other words, if a Jew owns an apartment in East Jerusalem, that won’t be allowed for listing; if an Arab owns an apartment in the same neighborhood, it’s fine for listing.
It now appears that anti-Semitism is out in the open, out of the closet in the corporate world.
Here’s a public service announcement…a serious one. The CDC – Center for Disease Control issued a ban on all romaine lettuce. Consumers who have any type of romaine lettuce in their home should not eat it and should throw it away, even if some of it was eaten and no one has gotten sick,” the CDC said in a notice on its website.
“This advice includes all types or uses of romaine lettuce, such as whole heads of romaine, hearts of romaine, and bags and boxes of precut lettuce and salad mixes that contain romaine, including baby romaine, spring mix, and Caesar salad. Seems there is another outbreak of e-Coli and they cannot find the source.
If Valerie Plante gets her way, Montreal’s downtown core will become like Detroit, Washington and other US cities where the inner core is a dead-zone from 6:00 pm until 6:00 am and devoid of any normal stores.
Madame Plante is aiming to cut out 500 parking spots along St. Catherine, turning it into a pedestrian mall with one lane for cars, a bike lane and zero room for parking. Z.E.R.O.
What about the stores along St. Catherine? Who cares? How will people get there? Mais, by bus and metro. And what about people who live in the West Island or other parts of the city where there is no metro and they need to take 3 buses to get downtown? What? They didn’t think of that?
And what about handicapped people who cannot take a bus or subway and want to shop downtown? Who cares. And what about delivery trucks? Who cares. What about the couple who just wants to go out for dinner downtown? They need to pay a babysitter and have two hours to go out but they can’t take their car downtown. Guess what? They will not go downtown and eat in their neighborhood.
Let’s see what the new Holt Renfrew has to say about this. When the Grand Prix is in Montreal and big rollers can’t get to the store because there’s no parking.
Madame Plante does not care about merchants downtown. She said there would be a consultation but we highly doubt that as per the closure of Mount Royal for six months. She sneakily covered up her true agenda when running for mayor and now Montreal is stuck with her.
Taberwit said the sloppy worker who cut through a water pipe and totally flooded a main north-south tunnel in Montreal. Perhaps this is one of the people Madame Plante will seek out for her ‘consultation’ of St. Catherine Street.
Spare us the idiocy of going after Ivanka Trump because she used her email account while in the White House. For starters, she was not the Secretary of State. Secondly, she did it in the open, not hiding her server in a closet in her house. And thirdly, she did not have access to top-secret information.
Those who hate Trump will stop at nothing to keep the negativity in the news. Move on boys and girls, nothing to see here.
Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving or even the night of Thanksgiving in the US is nothing short of total insanity.
People jump over each other, punch, push and otherwise become wild animals all to save a few dollars on something they most likely don’t really need.
We were very happy to see that more and more stores are staying closed and allowing their employees to enjoy the day with their families instead of being referees.
In case Northern California doesn’t have enough aggravation, there’s more coming their way. They are about to receive huge amounts of rain. In the areas of the worst forest fires, they are expecting landslides as there is nothing to stop the flow of earth and debris. Oy…
We’ll talk…
