What Does It Take to be a Public Servant in Quebec? No Initiative. Not Caring About Your Job. Keepin

First a mini rant: We heard a famous sports person this morning say the following: It was so fun.

Blanche, is that a sentence? Does it make sense? No to both. The fact that everyone uses these two words and pretend they mean something is nonsense. It’s either ‘it was so much fun’ or ‘we had such fun’. ‘So fun’ is putting two english words together that don’t make sense. Unless of course one is a two-year old still learning to talk. And even then his parents should be correcting him. Rant over.

Not that Blanche is a seer, but we told you so. By using fired FBI Director James Comey to attack the new Republican administration, Democrats have opened up a legal can of worms for the Obama administration.

Under sworn questioning, Comey has veered off the topic of President Trump and Russia and revealed several damning incidents in which his predecessor’s administration politically interfered in the Hillary Clinton email investigation. And now the Senate will investigate Team Obama for obstruction of justice.

Specifically, the Senate Judiciary Committee announced last week it will hold hearings to examine then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch’s involvement in the Clinton email server investigation. Now that’s something we can’t wait to hear about.

The Clinton’s are the slimiest politicians around. Let’s see Hillary try to get out of this one. Her ‘friends’ are gone and she has no power to stop Trump and company now. Just desserts anyone? Sears is closing 59 stores and laying off 2900 employees. In Montreal, the Sears outlet in Place Vertu is closing. Unfortunately for them, Sears is basically a dead issue. It can’t compete with Walmart and Amazon is killing their sales. The last time we went into a Sears store was to use the loo and that was about ten years ago.

Blanche, did you ever speak to an American and say where you were from? You know, when you have to say Montreal Canada. They have not the faintest hint of a clue that Montreal is in Quebec and Quebec is in Canada. Well, all that changed yesterday.

Some muslim dude from St. Michel, a suburb of Montreal last time we looked, stabbed a policeman in the Flint Michigan airport. Seems the muslim has a family and children but decided that life as he knew it had to change forever. What a fool.

Today our premier Couillard said that fighting terrorism is a responsibility that must be shared by everyone, including Muslims and one cannot separate terrorism from islam. Good morning America.

Here’s a headline for Couillard: Radical imams were calling for random killings of infidels yesterday which was the end of ramadan. We are guessing that the loser from St. Michel took his imam or one on the internet literally. He certainly went quite the distance to follow instructions.

Trump trumped the media today by announcing that there are no tapes of his conversations between him and James Comey, ex-FBI director. The left leaning media are beside themselves over the news. Of all the jobs in the world today, being the Press Secretary for Trump and going out day after day to face reporters has to be on the bottom of most people’s bucket list.

Why he would ever even suggest that he had tapes of their conversations is beyond anyone’s imagination. Nothing good came from ‘maybe there are tapes’ and less than nothing good from his announcement that there are no tapes. Moving right along.

Remember that runoff election in Georgia on Tuesday? Well, the Democrats lost and their problems have been magnified one hundred times over.

Their leader, 77 year-old Nancy Pelosi refuses to step down and let someone younger step into her shoes. It looks like they will have to remove her from her job kicking and screaming.

Ossoff, the Democrat candidate doesn’t live in the district where he ran, is not married, has no children and never connected with the local population. It seems that while the media may be unhappy with Trump, the voters are still giving him a chance.

Today there was a rather large power failure in Montreal. No snowstorm, no hail, heavy rain or wind. The sun was shining and poof! the power went out for about 20 minutes.

There’s a special number to call if such a thing happens. Blanche diligently called the number. After the initial hello, the recording says press one for English, which is what we did. Imagine our surprise when there was no English. It’s a french message. Obviously, bored, overpaid bureaucrats created both the english and french messages.

The power returned in a short time and we decided to pick up our passport from the local post office. Off we trudged only to see a long line and the person in charge on the phone. He was obviously arguing with someone by the tone of the conversation. But that’s not the point. Here it is:

The line was growing longer by the minute and the dude behind the counter was not getting off the phone. Blanche started mumbling – your tax dollars at work. We said it a few times until finally, one gentleman in the quickly growing line of customers said the computers were down due the to power failure.

Picture the scene: Lots of people in line, one person behind the counter on the phone not making eye contact with anyone. Now we ask you, how hard would it have been for him to make a small sign indicating that his computers were down and would not be fixed for about half an hour?

It was hard because it required thought, consideration for others and taking his job more seriously than his weekly pay check. Obviously the criteria to work for the government is not to take any initiative and for sure not to care about the public who pays your salary. Something’s wrong with this picture.

Good Shabbos We’ll talk…
