Who Is The Biggest Loser in the Air Canada Strike...A Telling Sign...

ree

We apologize for the tardiness of this blog. Among the stranded people due to the Air Canada strike were 230 Israeli kids. They were in Canada for a few weeks. Three weeks in summer camp and a week in Montreal then a few days in Toronto.

They were supposed to leave this past Sunday night which clearly did not happen and tomorrow night.

At 1:00 pm today we found out that 90 kids were on a flight to Athens tonight, then onto Israel. The troops were mobilized. The kids needed to eat before boarding the plane at 9:00 pm, plus they needed snacks for the long layover in Athens. Ergo, as we are intimately involved in this organization, when we would be writing Blanche, we were picking up 20 pizzas and tons of snacks and water. Check out the organization: https://ivowassociation.ca

The biggest loser in the recent Air Canada strike is Air Canada the company. They dropped the ball and it's still bouncing.

We disagreed with the flight attendants striking and still do. Doesn't matter, does it Blanche?

Patty Hajdu, our illustrious minister of Jobs and Families, looked like a deer in the headlights during these past few days.

She was completely over her head and her pay grade issuing a back to work order that was torn up on live TV. And we are supposed to take her seriously? That piece of paper telling the flight attendants to go back to work was more useless than Anthony Housefather in Parliament.

Our guess is that because Mark Carney micromanages everything, it could very well be he was calling the shots and she won the loser lottery as to who had to give over those ridiculous instructions.

Air Canada however, completely dropped the ball.

For starters, they wrongly believed that the government was going to bail them out of this mess and they were wrong. Carney hung them out to dry.

Then they didn't communicate with the public properly, if at all.

It's obvious that their brand took a huge hit. But more than that reliablity to their customers is now in serious jeopardy. The biggest complaint we heard was the people waited on hold for 4, 5 and 6 hours. When someone finally picked up the phone on the other end they were disconnected.

Air Canada was 100% useless in helping people book tickets on other airlines even though that is their mandate. They literally left people stranded all over the world.

Yes, in time many people will forget this strike. But there is a percentage who, for the next couple of years will stay far away from Air Canada as they have proven themselves to be untrustworthy.

And Michael Rousseau, the head of Air Canada needs to go back to school and learn negotiating skills as clearly, he has none. Of course Air Canada will have to pay for those lessons.

Don't start a tag day for him. Hold onto your chair. Here's Rousseau's salary:

For the 2023-24 financial year, Michael Rosseau was paid a salary amounting to CA$12.08 million. The base package owed to him was CA$1.3 million whereas additional stocks and options amounted to CA$7.8 million.

One would think that someone making that much money would have basic skills on how to talk to unions and not rely on the government to save him. Alas, we are wrong.

He's sucking the company dry and he's incompetent. Sound familiar? Could he not work for the government? Just look at Patty Hajdu who has a ministry attached to her name but couldn't find her way out of a closet.

Here's a good one.

The Air Canada union CUPE found 59 per cent of Canadians were more likely to sympathize with flight attendants than with Air Canada.

Can we talk?

We would bet anything that those 59% in favor of strike action were not flying in the last 2 weeks. They were sitting on their decks watching the boats sail by. Or they were in balconville watching the cars go by.

In other words, they had no skin in the game. Strike? What strike? We aren't going anywhere fast so let them strike till the cows come home or until we need to fly.

Just saying that polls for the most part do not give an accurate representation of how the population is feeling.

That meeting yesterday between Trump, Zelensky and many European heads of state was something to see. You may of course be asking where Mark Carney was. Don't look for him in the 'family' picture.

He's not out of focus nor was he in the terlit when that nice little family picture was taken. Nope. Even though we are most European Non-European country and we have supported Zelensky, we were not invited to the party.

So you could say this was for European countries only and you would be correct. However, Canada has never been sent to the penalty box or left out of these kinds of meetings. And this one was rather unique.

Alas, Mark Carney has failed to do anything he promised to get himself elected. Not doubt Trump knows this.

He has not tabled a budget, he hasn't negotiated a deal with the US, prices in Canada are still rising and the economy continues to weaken.

And now, all the big boys and girls were invited to Trump's mini summit except Mark Carney.

Telling...

We'll talk...
