It’s November 15 and a tad too early for the snowstorm ‘they’ are predicting. In case ‘they’ are right, may we suggest that you dig out (pardon the pun) your boots, shovels, mitts etc. And of course dawling, you can bring out the winter white fur stole.
If this forecast is correct, it’s gonna be a loooong winter folks. Oh yes, one more thing. Does anyone know if the contractors who remove the snow have started their contracts yet? Or will we find out, after the fact, that they don’t start until, oh, say December 1. Time will tell.
Blanche, did you know that buses don’t have gas gauges in Quebec sais faire aka je me souviens? It seems that buses can run for a full day on a tank of gas and when they go back to the garage someone, we are guessing the gas guy, fills each bus up again.
It appears the geniuses who run the bus garage fired said union worker who filled up the tanks and now…zut alors, the buses are running out of gas while on their route. Did they not know that if a bus or car has no gas it cannot run? But we digress. What a silly question.
These are the same bureacrats who fix all the east-west arteries in a neighbourhood at the same time because the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing and neither hand has any intelligence. Your tax dollars at work.
Michael ‘She Hit Me First’ Avenatti was arrested yesterday for domestic violence. Of course he is denying the charge. But his second wife, no his current girlfriend, no wait, his first wife said he’s a good guy.
So far his defence is “I would never do such a thing.” He also said he has two daughters. And therefore? On top of all of this, Stephanie Clifford aka Stormy Daniels threw him under the bus saying that if these allegations are true, she’s on her way to finding another lawyer. Notice she didn’t say he’s such a wonderful guy I don’t believe the allegations. Next.
Here’s another Quebec/Montreal overpaying fiasco: Annual cost of running parks in large Canadian cities per hectare: Winnipeg: $10,148, Calgary: $12,400, Toronto: $24,351 and the piece de resistance…Montreal $33,546.
The best part of this story is the reason given by the city: Because we have so few parks they are used more and therefore the maintenance is higher.
You can fool some of the people some of the time and all of the people some of the time but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time. Believe it or not, Montrealers are not all idiots. Some actually have a brain and can think. And when they read the drivel about why everything is four times more here than anywhere else one cannot help but think bribes, bribes and more bribes.
Blanche, did you see Brenda Snipes, Broward Supervisor of Elections? She’s the woman in charge of the ballots in the ever-present issue of lost, torn, uncounted ballots in Broward County in Florida. Special is the word that comes to mind when describing this woman.
Ok. So what’s true, false and not sure:
Not Sure Boxes labeled “provisional ballots” have been found at polling sites in Margate and Tamarac and at the Fort Lauderdale airport. Are there ballots in these boxes? No one is sure, but the elections office says ballots were already taken from these boxes, and the boxes themselves are left with other voting equipment to be picked up later.
True and false: A Broward County Circuit judge found that Snipes had destroyed ballots 12 months after the 2016 election when federal law requires the ballots to be preserved for 22 months. That got her into a lot of hot water.
As for Snipes who admitted there have been “issues” in her shop during the midterm election, said she may not seek re-election in 2020. Duh.
After all these years, Monica Lewinsky of the blue dress/Clinton fame, is speaking out. In her interview, she doesn’t let Bill off the hook. What oh what is Hillary going to do to her now? Given the #metoo movement, our guess is that Hillary will be forced to remain silent this time.
And speaking of Hillary, she’s on her infamous speaking tour and we happened to see her for a few moments. Dripping with disdain is the best way to describe her. Ugh. The Democrats should start praying that she disappears – permanently.
