In the it’s-about-time department, Twitter has announced that it will be removing posts that deny the holocaust, just days after Facebook did the same. You would have thought that Mark Zuckerberg, who is Jewish, would have gotten the message long ago.
Alas, such was not the case. His ‘free speech’ mantra only ended after he heard no less than 75 personal Holocaust survivor accounts recently. One of Facebook’s talking heads said the following: “We strongly condemn anti-Semitism, and hateful conduct has absolutely no place on our service.” Better 75 years late than never.
We recently read a very long, very scary and very stark article entitled Stop Being Shocked written by Bari Weiss who recently left the NY Times. It was directed at people who believe that Biden and the Democrats will save the world from another four years of Trump.
The article was beyond chilling and if you are white and Jewish, it was directed primarily at you.
Did you know that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the Democrat ‘progressive’ superstar, recently pulled out of an event honoring Yitzhak Rabin, because of his efforts to make peace with the Palestinians?
Did you know that protesters tagged a synagogue in Kenosha with “Free Palestine” graffiti?
Did you hear about the march in D.C. where they chanted “Israel, we know you, you murder children too”?
Did you hear that the Biden campaign apologized to Linda Sarsour after initially disavowing her?
Did you see that Mayor Bill de Blasio scapegoated “the Jewish community” for the spread of COVID in New York, while defending mass protests on the grounds that this is a “historic moment of change”?
Did you know that some charter schools recently eliminated the phrase “work hard” from its famous motto “Work Hard. Be Nice” because the idea of working hard supports the illusion of meritocracy.
As Jews, an ideology that contends that there are no meaningful differences between cultures is not simply ridiculous but is also, as history has shown, lethal.
It does not matter how progressive, how vegan or how gay, how much you want universal health care or an end to the drug war. To believe in the justness of the existence of the Jewish state—to believe in being Jewish at all—is to make yourself an enemy of this movement.
Be very, very careful who you support and if you vote, as always, be careful what you wish for.

It appears that Deli 365 (serving the best smoked meat sandwiches in the city) located on Bernard did the unthinkable and, hold on, had an all English sign. Can you imagine the chutzpah? Can you imagine how the delicate sensibilities of poutine-eating, bingo-playing French Canadians were affected? Can you imagine how Madame Jehane Benoit, Quebec’s premier chef must be rolling over in her grave? An English sign? In Outremont no less? Heresy we say.
Deli 365 was fined $1500 and had the name of their restaurant plastered all over the internet, in newspapers, on social media – you name it. Don’t you wonder how much it would have cost them had they called all these places to advertise? Don’t. The genius bureaucrats in the OLF advertised for them.

If this story is true, and we have no reason to believe otherwise, what’s going on in the US election is far from just frightening.
Yesterday, the New York Post broke a story alleging serious corruption of Joe Biden and Hunter Biden concerning Ukraine. The allegations in the New York Post story, if true, indicate that Vice President Biden lied when he said that he had never discussed his son’s business dealings.
The issue is not the story itself, although that must be dealt with. The issue is that Facebook and Twitter blocked the story from social media.
To say this an abuse of power of social media, of decency, of truthful reporting are all understatements. It is illegal and if true, both Facebook and Twitter should be not only heavily fined, but shut down for a period of time.
Here are some stats vis-a-vis how Florida and New York fought Covid-19. We won’t comment as the numbers speak for themselves. Florida is a Republican state, NY is a democratic state. A final note about what appears to be the back and forth of our support of Biden or Trump. As you can see, unless your feet are firmly cemented into a block on one side or the other, the decision is not an easy one. In fact, it’s very hard.
What we read in the past few days about the direction of the democratic party was very, very alarming. Who wants a world like that? And watching Trump often unraveling in front of our eyes can be beyond the pale. There is still a bit more than two weeks to go before the election. Maybe there will be a miracle and someone on either side will come to their senses.
