Robert Mueller held the magic potion to solve the Democrat’s very irksome Trump ‘problem’ and Putin was going to be tarred and feathered for robbing Hillary of her presidency. The Democrats waited almost 2 years for his report. And then, on Sunday, they had a worse day than when Hillary lost the election. Was CNN’s Don Lemon crying again, asking what he was going to tell his children?
On Sunday, Attorney General William Barr’s summary of the Mueller report found the president did not collude with Russia over the 2016 elections. Uh oh.
For almost two years, over 60 outspoken actors and actresses, all the late night talk show hosts, The NY Times, the Washington Post, CNN, MSNBC and many other media outlets thought they would finally ‘get’ Trump. He would be taken from the White House in handcuffs. He would be impeached. His son-in-law Jarrid Kushner would be arrested.
Their saviour did not save them. Trump was elected fair and square. How the mighty fall and how silly they all look.
One cannot fathom how the mind of Justin Trudeau works. We were thinking that perhaps it doesn’t work. Maybe one too many tokes…leading to psychedelic socks and silly selfies. But we digress.
It cannot be that he keeps shooting himself in the foot and doesn’t know it. Blanche, are you saying that he cannot figure out that by not allowing Jody Wilson Raybould to speak he alone is keeping the SNC-Lavalin scandal alive?
It appears that Trudeau’s caucus is losing patience with him as he had to downplay their split over the SNC-Lavalin affair. We especially liked this quote: “The Conservatives’ voting marathon ended up being a team-building exercise.” Right. Team building. Tell it to the Marines.
Today, the Ethics committee said that they will also not hear from JWR or Philpott. Trudeau will not grant them a waver to speak anywhere freely. Liberal MP Judy Sgro said last week they should “put up or shut up”. Guess Trudeau missed that quote.
Doesn’t the Ethics Committee have to be impartial? Bipartisan? Not taking sides? Guess not, eh Blanche.
Israel is being bombarded by rockets from Gaza and the world remains silent.
Blanche, ya think it has to do with Trump saying that the Golan belongs to Israel? Or that there is an Israeli election in a few weeks? Ya think the world is mad at the US for dealing with Arab countries the way it should be: peace for peace, not land for peace.
Yesterday in Montreal, taxi drivers held the city hostage. People missed flights, doctors appointments, important meetings and were late for work. Normally, we would be incensed about this. The truth is, it doesn’t really help their cause as they can’t seem to get their act together or could not find someone to lobby properly on their behalf.
The CAQ’s Bill 17, which was tabled last week, will deregulate the taxi industry and get rid of expensive fees.
It would allow drivers to charge a variable rate, similar to Uber and Lyft. It would abolish taxi permits, which means the ones drivers have now would become obsolete. Some people paid over $150,000 for their permit, still owe thousands of dollars on it, and it will now become null and void.
One of the biggest silent issues with Bill 17 is that it will no longer recognize the need for transport of disabled people and does not have provisions that ensure access to taxi transportation are tailored to their particular needs.
The taxi industry makes up about 70 per cent of the trips required by people with disabilities to go to school, work, receive health care or visit loved ones — a total of six million trips a year.
Quebec’s Premier Legault is one cold-hearted piece of work, not caring whatsoever about those who cannot fend for themselves. Either that or his ‘advisors’ forgot about this small detail. Always be careful what you wish for.
Quebec is also becoming the one and only place in the world where if you wear a hijab or kippa, you cannot do a job where you deal with the public. Like teach. Watch out. Your kippa-wearing math teacher may ask you to fast on Yom Kippur. Seriously?
Let’s call a spade a spade. It is the hijab that is targeted. It is islam that is being targeted. Jews are collateral damage.
While there have been reports the bill will include an acquired-rights clause that will allow already-employed teachers to continue to wear religious symbols, the clause would require a headcount to identify who would have an acquired right.Got that? Give over the names of everyone visibly religious. If this sounds scary, it is.
The teachers Federation is going to court over this. Welcome to our third world country right here in Quebec.
And speaking of third-world countries there have been countless power-failures all over Montreal in the past few months.
We would very much appreciate a serious media outlet doing some research to find out if, just as the roads, bridges and other government infrastructures used inferior materials and those working on them were corrupt, perhaps the hydro grid was dealt with the same way.
Using inferior products with bureaucrats taking bribes – ergo endless power failures. Happens in Haiti, Cuba etc. We’re also a banana republic so the analogy makes sense.
Yesterday, Trump experienced the trifecta: …The Mueller report exonerated him, …Michael Avenatti, was arrested in an attempt to “shake down” Nike Inc for over $20 million and for embezzlement and fraud charges in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, was arrested in New York, …He signed the deal with Netanyahu that the Golan belongs to Israel and does not ever have to go back to the 1967 border.
We’ll talk…
