Will the Real Cleansers Please Stand Up

We refrained from any comment on Jeffrey Epstein as we felt it simply in bad taste. However, his death, which seems to ruled as a suicide, is beyond the pale. The second thing to note is that this story is already gone from the front pages of social media. Now that Epstein, the core of the story is dead, so is the story. After listening to the talking heads and reading some articles, we have come to the following conclusions: there are one of  two ways in which this man died.

The first is that he was allowed to commit suicide. He had plenty of money to pay off people who would pay off others to look the other way and make sure he had what he needed. Seems this is the most likely scenario as the guards did not look in on him for a few hours.  The second was that there was a hit on him and because the people he consorted with were extremely powerful, finding that trail will be difficult if not impossible to find.

Case in point is the murder of the Shermans in Toronto. At first blush, the police said it was a suicide. It did not take long however for them to change their minds and realise that there was no way they could have taken their lives alone. The murderers are yet to be found.

Our guess is the same will happen with Epstein. Many, many people wanted him dead, the most important one being Epstein himself. He knew very well he was never going to see the light of day again and the thought of spending the next 20 or 30 years in prison was not happening.

The main people who will suffer are the women who came forward. No matter what happens now, he will never have to face them.

Bernie Sanders is living up to his reputation as a lowlife. As Bernie was making his way to different vendors at the Iowa State fair, his handlers and staffers were pushing and shoving journalists out of the way.

In the press office following the rough treatment of journalists who are covering him during his campaign, chaos erupted as other members of the press saw what happened to their fellow journalists. So you must be wondering what Bernie said to these people who are with him all the time.

He said nothing, going instead to buy a corn dog. How apropos.  Arf. Arf.

Ok all you cleansers, listen up. Wait Blanche, you don’t know what cleansing is?

It is people who do one of two things: don’t eat for a few days, drinking only smoothies made of greens and maybe some fruit, or others who are more extreme and have eliminated sugar, carbs, dairy, meat and animal products, gluten, starch, pesticides, herbicides — anything that isn’t natural, organic or ‘clean’ from their diets. Sounds like they eat seeds and lettuce like rabbits.

Well, it appears that such people have a disease called orthorexia which has  been classified as a mental disorder meaning that people are obsessed with this kind of eating.

Pictures of lean, tanned people, muscular bodies in yoga posses, enthusiastic product endorsements and sage dietary advice go along with orthorexia.

Can we talk? Nothing in extreme is good. Why can’t people just eat normally? Cleansing is for sinks and toilets. Our bodies cleanse themselves:

The liver acts like a filter in preventing toxic substances contained in foods from passing into your blood stream.

The colon flushes out toxic chemicals before they can do you any harm.

The kidneys are constantly filtering your blood and getting rid of toxins in the form of urine.

Hong Kong, which has some of the best shopping in the world, is quickly become the hotspot in terms of rioting in the world. Why are people rioting? Here’s the history:

Hong Kong is significantly different from other Chinese cities. The history is a bit long, but well worth the read to understand how this dynamic city is quickly becoming a powder-keg.

It was a British colony for more than 150 years – part of it, Hong Kong island, was ceded to the UK after a war in 1842. Later, China also leased the rest of Hong Kong – the New Territories – to the British for 99 years.

It became a busy trading port, and its economy took off in the 1950s as it became a manufacturing hub.The territory was also popular with migrants and dissidents fleeing instability, poverty or persecution in mainland China.

Then, in the early 1980s, as the deadline for the 99-year-lease approached, Britain and China began talks on the future of Hong Kong – with the communist government in China arguing that all of Hong Kong should be returned to Chinese rule.

The two sides reached a deal in 1984 that would see Hong Kong return to China in 1997, under the principle of “one country, two systems”.

This meant that while becoming part of one country with China, Hong Kong would enjoy “a high degree of autonomy, except in foreign and defence affairs” for 50 years. As a result, Hong Kong has its own legal system and borders, and rights including freedom of assembly and free speech are protected.

But things are not working that way. The Chinese government said in 2014 it would allow voters to choose their leaders from a list approved by a pro-Beijing committee, but critics called this a “sham democracy” and it was voted down in Hong Kong’s legislature.

Hong Kong’s leader, the chief executive, is currently elected by a 1,200-member election committee – a mostly pro-Beijing body chosen by just 6% of eligible voters.

The main issue however, the cause of the riots and those taking part in them is that while most people in Hong Kong are ethnic Chinese, and although Hong Kong is part of China, the majority of people there don’t identify as Chinese. As always, most of these people are young.

To the great chagrin of the leadership in Beijing, Hong Kongers are extremely organised in their rioting. Today however, it seems that Beijing has had enough of the protesters and went in with storm troopers who literally beat the protesters to a pulp.

This is one of the biggest stalemates to hit the world in a long time and it doesn’t look like it’s going to end well for either side.

Oh, one more thing about Epstein. Conspiracy theories are floating around like balloons let out of a factory. No, he’s not alive and well and living in the Virgin Islands. He’s very dead.

We’ll talk…
